Finite element analysis of laminated composite plates using high order shear deformation theory
A rectangular non-conforming element based on Reddy's higher-order shear deformation plate theory is developed. Although the plate theory is quite attractive but it could not be exploited as expected in finite-element analysis.

Time-dependent responses of cracked concrete structures are complex, due to the intertwined effects between creep, shrinkage, and cracking. There still lacks an effective numerical model to accurately predict their nonlinear long-term deflections.

Theory and implementation of sub-model method in finite element analysis
Through finite element analysis (FEA) software to study mechanical performance of a bridge structure is currently a commonly used method. The keys to obtain accurate results are to select the appropriate element type and establish a refine mesh model ...

Compared with the classical continuum theory, the modified gradient elastic theory (MGE theory) better explains the size effect, strain and damage localization of materials. In this paper, we constructed a C1 planar triangular finite element based on the

Struttura X-barra nei segmenti: la rappresentazione della lenizione
The article concerns some developments of Element Theory that extend X-bar theory to the realm of phonology in order to represent the internal structure of segments.

Elements of a hybrid interconnection theory [PDF]
We present a textbooklike treatment of hybrid systems employing both optical and electrical interconnections. We investigate how these two different interconnection media can be used in conjunction to realize a system not possible with any alone.

EVALUATION OF PLATE LOAD TEST RESULTS: A CASE STUDY IN ANKARA/TURKEY
Plate load test is widely used for bearing capacity and settlement calculations of foundations. In this study, 6 plate load tests were carried out to determine the bearing capacity and settlement of the foundation.

L'individuazione dei primitivi della Teoria degli Elementi: la questione dell'economia
The paper discusses the question of “overgeneration”, that in the literature concerning segmental phonology and Element Theory in particular has been often proposed as a major concern affecting the definition of elemental inventories.

Headedness in Element Theory: The case for multiple heads
Like distinctive features, elements identify natural classes and model the structure of segments. But unlike features, they combine asymmetrically in expressions, with head-dependent relations between elements making a significant contribution to the ...
