Fluxes of Gaseous Elemental Mercury on a Mediterranean Coastal Grassland [PDF]
Coastal rural areas can be a source of elemental mercury, but the potential influence of their topographic and climatic particularities on gaseous elemental mercury (GEM) fluxes have not been investigated extensively.

Beyond acrodynia: infantile mercury vapor poisoning presenting with refractory hypoglycemia and persistent neurological damage [PDF]
Infantile elemental mercury poisoning is clinically rare and poses a severe long-term health threat. This report describes a rare case of non-accidental infantile elemental mercury poisoning, in which the infant was continuously exposed to mercury vapor ...

Erethism Mercurialis and Reactions to Elemental Mercury [PDF]
Mercury is an underrecognized cause of heavy metal poisoning. Typically, mercury exposure occurs though consumption of methylmercury in seafood or acute inhalation of elemental mercury vapors, with other routes of exposure being uncommon. We describe a case of mercury toxicity resulting from intentional injection of liquid mercury into the right ...

Summertime elemental mercury exchange of temperate grasslands on an ecosystem-scale [PDF]
In order to estimate the air-surface mercury exchange of grasslands in temperate climate regions, fluxes of gaseous elemental mercury (GEM) were measured at two sites in Switzerland and one in Austria during summer 2006.
