The C‐terminal truncated splicing variant of NK1R negatively modulates substance P‐stimulated NK1R signaling

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The neurokinin 1 receptor exists as full‐length (NK1L) and C‐terminally truncated (NK1S) splice variants. We show that NK1S heterodimerizes with NK1L, impairing Gαq coupling and Ca2+ mobilization while enhancing β‐arrestin1 recruitment. NK1S suppresses substance P‐driven gene expression and cell migration, revealing NK1S as an endogenous biased ...

The C‐terminal domain of yeast Arginyltransferase1 is essential for its catalytic activity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Arginyltransferase 1 (Ate1), a eukaryotic enzyme, catalyses arginylation, transferring arginine from tRNA‐Arg to the amino terminus of the target protein. Overexpression of Ate1 in yeast is lethal and is dependent on arginylation. This study elucidates how mutations in the cofactor‐binding and active site of Ate1 and truncation of its structural ...

Interactive Puzzle Based on Gamification Concepts Assisted by a Website on the Five Senses Material to Improve Learning Outcomes of Fourth-Grade Elementary School Students

open access: yesJurnal Media dan Teknologi Pendidikan
The low science learning outcomes of fourth-grade elementary school students on the five senses material are generally caused by the lack of variety and interactivity of the learning media used, so that students tend to be passive and easily bored. This

Genetic dissection of human ABCE1 in yeast reveals separable requirements for ribosome recycling and suppression of aberrant reinitiation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Human ABCE1 cannot functionally replace its yeast ortholog. Yeast–human chimera analysis identified NBD1 as a major interspecies barrier. Genetic screening yielded hABCE1 revertants that rescue yeast viability but fail to suppress aberrant translation reinitiation in the 3′ UTR.

Evaluating GenAI‐produced feedback on undergraduate bioscience essays against good higher education feedback practice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This pilot study investigates the potential of Generative AI to provide formative feedback to students. ChatGPT was prompted to provide feedback on Year 1 Bioscience essays, which were evaluated against established good feedback practices. GenAI‐authored feedback had useful elements, but was limited in scope. GenAI may have potential to provide instant,

The Effect of Drill Assisted CTL Model on the Mathematical Knowledge Competence of Fifth Grade Elementary School Students

open access: yesIndonesian Journal of Instruction
Mathematics learning in elementary schools often faces the problem of students’ low conceptual understanding because the learning process tends to be procedural and is less connected to students’ real life contexts.
