Elementary particle physics [PDF]
Elementary particle physics is discussed. Status of the Standard Model of electroweak and strong interactions; phenomena beyond the Standard Model; new accelerator projects; and possible contributions from non-accelerator experiments are ...

Diffusion‐based size determination of solute particles: a method adapted for postsynaptic proteins
We present a diffusion‐based approach for measuring the size of macromolecules and their complexes, and demonstrate its use on postsynaptic proteins. The method requires fluorescein‐labelled protein samples, a microfluidic device that maintains laminar flow for said samples, a microscope recording the emitted fluorescent signals, and an analytic ...

UV sensitivity of the axion mass from instantons in partially broken gauge groups
We examine the contribution of small instantons to the axion mass in various UV completions of QCD. We show that the reason behind the potential dominance of such contributions is the non-trivial embedding of QCD into the UV theory.

Berberine–cinnamic acid co‐crystal (BBR‐CA) inhibits the phosphorylation of the phosphatidylinositol 3‐kinase (PI3K)/AKT/mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) pathway, suppressing the transfer of pre‐sterol regulatory element‐binding proteins‐1 (SREBP‐1) from the endoplasmic reticulum to the nucleus. This results in a decrease in the expression level of

Rethinking plastic waste: innovations in enzymatic breakdown of oil‐based polyesters and bioplastics
Plastic pollution remains a critical environmental challenge, and current mechanical and chemical recycling methods are insufficient to achieve a fully circular economy. This review highlights recent breakthroughs in the enzymatic depolymerization of both oil‐derived polyesters and bioplastics, including high‐throughput protein engineering, de novo ...

Holographic energy correlators for soft walls
We calculate energy correlators in a general holographic model of confinement, involving an asymptotically anti-de Sitter (AdS) warped extra dimension.

Optimal Collision Energy for Higgs Precision Measurements at the ILC250 [PDF]
In the context of the International Linear Collider, the following research aims to look for the best energies for this machine to work at in order to achieve the most precise measurements on Higgs related quantities.

Production of antibacterial compounds by a Steely hybrid polyketide synthase in Dictyostelium
By selecting appropriate production species under optimised culture conditions, new chlorinated dibenzofuran compounds, which previously could not be analysed in sufficient quantities, were identified from cellular slime mould fruiting bodies. The strong antibacterial activity exhibited by these compounds suggests a link to the ecological function of ...

A New Method for Measuring Higgs Mass [PDF]
The Higgs mass as one of the fundamental parameters in the Standard Model has been already measured with a precision of 110 MeV with the data collected so far at the LHC.

A general model for analysis of linear and hyperbolic enzyme inhibition mechanisms
We developed a general enzyme kinetic model that integrates these six basic inhibition mechanism onto a single one. From this model, we deduced a general enzyme kinetic equation that through modulation of simple parameters, γ (the relative inhibitor affinity for two binding sites) and β (the reactivity of the enzyme–substrate–inhibitor complex), is ...
