Are Mesons Elementary Particles?

Physical Review, 1949
The hypothesis that $\ensuremath{\pi}$-mesons may be composite particles formed by the association of a nucleon with an anti-nucleon is discussed. From an extremely crude discussion of the model it appears that such a meson would have in most respects properties similar to those of the meson of the Yukawa theory.

The nature of elementary particles

Physics Today, 1976
The question, “What is an elementary particle?” must find its answer primarily in experiment, although it must also be confronted with philosphical considerations. I will therefore begin by giving a short survey of the important experimental results of the last fifty years.

Elementary and Composite Particles

Physical Review, 1961
It is shown for two simple fixed-source theories with one stable excited state of the source that (1) a knowledge of the physical $S$-matrix elements of the theory is sufficient to decide if the state is associated with an elementary particle or a composite particle, and (2) the theory in which the particle is composite corresponds to the elementary ...

Spacetime of the Elementary Particles

Journal of Mathematical Physics, 1960
The possibility is examined that physical space is characterized by a torsion, or an asymmetric connection, which is determined by the matter field. There exists a space with uniform torsion with the same metrical properties as conventional microspace; it is isotropic and homogeneous with a very large radius of curvature (R≅1028 cm).

Molecules and elementary particles

Biosystems, 1977
A new field theory based on a generalization of Einstein's general theory of relativity is briefly discussed and some of its predictions and their comparisons with recent experiments are presented.

Elementary Particles at Rest

Physical Review, 1952
The object of this paper is to present a theory of the structure of elementary particles at rest. Some applications are included; in particular a solution to an unsolved problem in astronomy is presented.

Theory of Elementary Particles

Science, 1955
It is obvious that at the present state of our knowledge it would be hopeless to try to find the correct theory of the elementary particles. On the other hand, one may try to form some kind of picture of how such a future theory of elementary particles will look, because, even if we realize that we know only very few details about the elementary ...

Elementary Particles and the Principle of Reciprocity

Nature, 1949
THE discovery of different kinds of mesons with rest-masses spreading over a considerable range has brought about a fundamental change in the aspect of the problem of elementary particles. It looks as if there exists a great many, possibly an infinite number of particles with different rest-masses, most of them being unstable, while a few have a long ...
