Conjugacy in normal subgroups of hyperbolic groups
Let N be a finitely generated normal subgroup of a Gromov hyperbolic group G. We establish criteria for N to have solvable conjugacy problem and be conjugacy separable in terms of the corresponding properties of G/N.

The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

ELEMENTARY SUBGROUPS OF VIRTUALLY FREE GROUPS
19 pages. We give a description of elementary subgroups (in the sense of first-order logic) of finitely generated virtually free groups. In particular, we recover the fact that elementary subgroups of finitely generated free groups are free factors ...

School Size, Achievement, and Achievement Gaps
In order to examine the relationship between school size and achievement, a study was conducted using longitudinal achievement data from North Carolina for three separate cohorts of public school students (one elementary, one middle and one high school).

The double component of the librarian’s work in agricultural education invites us to question the elaboration processes of professional identity. From a theoretical point of view, our analysis leans on two processes contributing to producing professional

Subgroups of the elementary and Steinberg groups of congruence level I2
Let \(I\) be an ideal in the ring \(B\). It is well known that the relative group \(\mathrm{GL}(B,I)\) depends only on \(I\), but that \(E(B,I)\) varies with the choice of ambient ring \(B\). Let \(E(I) = E(\mathbb{Z}\oplus I,I)\). The authors prove (Theorem 1) that the following subgroups of \(\mathrm{GL}(I)\) are equal, \[ [E(I),E(I)] = [E(B,I),E(B,I)

On residualizing homomorphisms preserving quasiconvexity
H is called a G-subgroup of a hyperbolic group G if for any finite subset M G there exists a homomorphism from G onto a non-elementary hyperbolic group G_1 that is surjective on H and injective on M. In his paper in 1993 A. Ol'shanskii gave a description

Hydration‐induced symmetry breaking transforms layered LiInP2S6${\rm LiInP}_2{\rm S}_6$ from a nonpolar to a chiral‐polar phase, producing a giant enhancement of non‐resonant second‐harmonic generation. The reversible tuning of polar order through molecular intercalation establishes a strategy for dynamically controlling nonlinear optical ...

A new motor screening assessment for children at risk for motor disorders: construct validity
Objective: To develop a motor screening assessment and provide preliminary evidence of its psychometric properties. Methods: A sample of 365 elementary school students was assessed, with structural equation modeling applied to obtain evidence of the ...
