Elephantine but not Elephantiasis: Subcutaneous zygomycosis
The Indian Journal of Pediatrics, 2011Subcutaneous zygomycosis is an unusual disorder caused by a rare fungus, Basidiobolus ranarum. We report this entity in a 4- yr- old boy. Biopsy showed the Splendore Hoeppli phenomenon and the culture yielded Basidiobolus ranarum. The child responded to saturated solution of potassium iodide within 1 month of starting treatment.

Olfactory adventures of elephantine pheromones
Biochemical Society Transactions, 2003Understanding the linkage between behaviour of mammals in their natural environment and the molecular basis of their sensory modalities presents challenges to biologists. Our olfactory investigations that involve the largest extant land mammal, the elephant, offer some clues of how these events mesh in sequence.

This chapter looks at some of the areas that seem to relate to biblical teaching, especially the pentateuch. One question to be answered is whether the present text of the "Five Books of Moses" is presupposed.
