Lateral Oscillation of a Moving Elevator Rope.

The system composed of a rope with a time-varying length and two mass-spring systems hanging at its end is considered to be the analytical model of an elevator. The lateral oscillation of the rope is excited sinusoidally by the horizontal displacement at the upper end of the rope.
