Semi-Active Control of the Sway Dynamics for Elevator Ropes

open access: yesCoRR, 2015
In this work we study the problem of rope sway dynamics control for elevator systems. We choose to actuate the system with a semi-active damper mounted on the top of the elevator car. We propose nonlinear controllers based on Lyapunov theory, to actuate the semi-active damper and stabilize the rope sway dynamics.

Deep Learning‐Assisted Coherent Raman Scattering Microscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
The analytical capabilities of coherent Raman scattering microscopy are augmented through deep learning integration. This synergistic paradigm improves fundamental performance via denoising, deconvolution, and hyperspectral unmixing. Concurrently, it enhances downstream image analysis including subcellular localization, virtual staining, and clinical ...

Modeling and Numerical Computation of the Longitudinal Non-Linear Dynamics of High-Speed Elevators

open access: yesApplied Sciences
High-speed elevator systems comprise numerous components, and vibration issues are prevalent. The evident non-linear behavior resulting from changes in the wire rope length adds complexity to the investigation of elevator dynamics issues.

Analysis and control of elevator ropes vibration in high-rise buildings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
京都工芸繊維大学博士(工学)Increasing urbanization in recent years has led to increasing numbers of high-rise buildings and, with them, high-rise elevator. These elevators require the use of very long wire ropes.

Spatially Informed Feature Selection and Machine Learning in Matrix‐Assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization Imaging for Cohort‐Scale Molecular Tissue Phenomics in Glioblastoma

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
Matrix‐assisted laser desorption/ionization imaging‐based identification of reliable small molecule markers across heterogeneous glioblastoma cohorts is challenging with intensity‐only methods. We present spatially informed feature selection (SIFS), a spatially informed framework that prioritizes molecules consistently colocalizing with histopathology.

The dynamic response of elevator compensating ropes in high-rise buildings

open access: yes, 2008
High-rise buildings often suffer from severe vibrations induced by strong winds. The low-frequency sway of the structure can excite elevator compensating ropesinstalled in tall buildings.

High‐elevation endemic plants predicted to lose habitat from changing climate in Washington State

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Botany, EarlyView.
Abstract Premise High‐elevation plants face unique challenges from potential climate change impacts that will likely require upslope migration into increasingly smaller suitable habitat. This situation is particularly acute for endemic species that by definition occupy small geographic ranges.

The Modeling of Longitudinal and Lateral Vibrations on the Elevator Rope

open access: yesTRANSACTIONS OF THE JAPAN SOCIETY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERS Series C, 2006
In the vibration analyses for the elevator systems, especially in high-rise buildings, the elevator rope is assumed as an elastic model. There are two types of vibrations in the rope. One is the longitudinal vibration, and the other is the lateral one. Accordingly it is desirable to consider longitudinal and lateral vibrations at the same time. However
