Proceedings of the 2nd international conference on Embedded networked sensor systems, 2004
An efficient and reliable file storage system is important to micro sensor nodes so that data can be logged for later asynchronous delivery across a multi-hop wireless sensor network. Designing and implementing such a file system for a sensor node faces various challenges. Sensor nodes are highly resource constrained in terms of limited runtime memory,

The Elf AI project at Elf Aquitaine
Pattern Recognition Letters, 1984Abstract This paper presents two expert systems under experimentation at Elf Aquitaine, a French oil company. The first system, named Simmias , deals with knowledge and reasoning about hydrocarbon migration. The Secofor system helps a drilling supervisor in diagnosing and solving drilling incidents. Some general conclusions are given.

Considerable information has been obtained within the last decade describing biological effects, both real and potential, of extremely low frequency (ELF) electric and magnetic fields. Additionally, advances have also been made in defining the interactions between such fields and living systems.

ABSTRACTA desired military capability is continuous communications to all world wide deployed submarines, from one continental United States location, with minimum depth, speed, or heading constraints. Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) is the only usable portion of the electromagnetic spectrum which penetrates seawater to sufficient depths to meet these ...
