Strengthening the health systems at national level for malaria elimination in the Greater Mekong Subregion countries: a qualitative study

open access: yesInfectious Diseases of Poverty
Background Countries in the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) have committed to eliminating malaria by 2030. The success of a national malaria programme’s transition from malaria control to elimination is dependent on the readiness of the health system to ...

ZW4864‐mediated inhibition of the β‐catenin/BCL9/BCL9L complex reveals therapeutic potential in bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

Reductive elimination of alkylamines and ethers: reactions of bisphosphine-ligated palladium(II) complexes

open access: yes, 2011
The reductive elimination reactions detailed in this dissertation provide experimental insight into the mechanism of reductive elimination to form the C(sp3)-N bond of benzylamines and the C(sp3)-O bond of benzyl ethers. The stereochemical outcome of the

Symplectic Elimination

open access: yesCoRR
We develop the symplectic elimnation algorithm. This algorithm using simple row operations reduce a symplectic matrix to a diagonal matrix. This algorithm gives rise to a decomposition of an arbitrary matrix into a product of a symplectic matrix and a reduced matrix.

Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.

Abstract Communication-efficient parallel generic

open access: yes, 2008
The model of bulk-synchronous parallel (BSP) computation is an emerging paradigm of general-purpose parallel computing. In this paper, we consider the parallel complexity of generic pairwise elimination, special cases of which include Gaussian ...

C2α‐carbanion‐protonating glutamate discloses tradeoffs between substrate accommodation and reaction rate in actinobacterial 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Enzymes of the 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase group catalyze the condensation of formyl‐CoA with aldehydes or ketones. Thus, by structural adaptation of active sites, practically any pharmaceutically and industrially important 2‐hydroxyacid could be biotechnologically synthesized. Combining crystal structure analysis, active site mutations and kinetic assays,

Refutation by Elimination

open access: yesAnalysis, 2009
This paper refutes two important and influential views in one fell stroke. The first is G.E. Moore’s view that assertions of the form ‘Q but I don’t believe that Q’ are inherently “absurd.” The second is Gareth Evans’s view that justification to assert Q entails justification to assert that you believe Q. Both views run aground the possibility of being

PARP inhibitors induce a senescence phenotype in non‐small cell lung carcinoma cell lines

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Talazoparib is the most potent inducer of senescence among different PARP1 inhibitors in human NSCLC cells. In the absence of PARP, no senescence phenotype was observed, demonstrating that PARP1 is necessary for the induction of senescence by this inhibitor.
