Engineering Synergistic Intra‐/Intermolecular Conformational Locking via Side‐Chain Branching: A β‐Sheet‐Inspired Strategy for Planar NIR‐II Phototheranostic Aggregates

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A bio‐inspired side‐chain branching strategy is developed to orchestrate a dual noncovalent conformational locking (NoCL) network, enabling the construction of perfectly planar NIR‐II phototheranostic aggregates. Such structural precision maximizes light‐harvesting efficiency and optimizes exciton dynamics, ensuring synchronized enhancements in NIR‐II ...

A Panel of Circulating Exosomal sncRNAs Associated With Lung Cancer Risk up to 10 Years in Advance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lung cancer is often diagnosed too late, and current screening overlooks many people at risk. In a long‐term study of smokers, a panel of small non‐coding RNAs carried in blood exosomes signals elevated lung cancer risk up to ten years before diagnosis, pointing toward a blood‐based tool for earlier risk detection.

A Blood‐Derived Factor Rescues ALS: Platelet Factor 4 Activates OPTN‐Dependent Autophagy to Clear SOD1 Aggregates Independently of PINK1

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Systemic platelet factor 4 (PF4) is significantly depleted in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Peripheral PF4 replenishment restores central proteostasis by driving OPTN‐dependent, PINK1‐independent selective autophagy in motor neurons. This intervention effectively clears toxic SOD1 aggregates, blunts glial activation, and preserves neuromuscular ...

Lipidomic Profile Reconstruction of Therapeutic Membrane Targets Using Physics‐Based Optimization with Limited Activity Data

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using a minimal set of experimentally labeled antimicrobial and non‐antimicrobial peptides, we reconstruct the effective lipid composition of a pathogenic membrane ‐demonstrated at the example of bacterial membranes‐ through a physics‐based evolutionary molecular dynamics (Evo‐MD) approach. Optimization based on peptide insertion reveals broad‐spectrum

Consumption Patterns of the New Elite in Zimbabwe [PDF]

open access: yes
Since Zimbabwean independence in 1980, a small percentage of the black population has become wealthy. This paper and a companion video explore the consumption patterns of members of this new black elite in post-colonial Zimbabwe. Given the violent war of

PARP Inhibitors plus Anlotinib as Bridging Therapy for Armored CAR‐T Cells in Ovarian Cancer Enhances Infiltration and Antitumor Efficacy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study shows that a PARP inhibitor combined with anlotinib, administered as bridging therapy, preconditions the tumor microenvironment to enhance the infiltration and antitumor activity of subsequently infused CAR‐T cells across preclinical ovarian cancer models, supporting bridging therapy as a promising strategy to address limited CAR‐T cell ...
