The principal diamondiferous lamproite pipes in Australia, the Ellendale Lamproite Field and the Argyle Lamproite Pipe, occur in the north of Western Australia and are associated with two major intra-continental mobile zones, the King Leopold and Halls Creek Mobile Zones, respectively, in the North Australian Craton.
