The road toward a general relativistic metric inside the Earth and its effect on neutrino travel from CERN to GRAN-SASSO Laboratory [PDF]
In a first attempt to describe the effect on neutrino travel inside the Earth caused by general relativity in the case of a dense Earth, we have neglected the Earth's rotation, the Earth's ellipticity and also the surface terrain variation, nevertheless ...

Mesoporous Carbon Thin Films with Large Mesopores as Model Material for Electrochemical Applications
Mesoporous carbon thin films possessing 70 nm mesopores are prepared on titanium substrates by soft templating of resol resins with a self‐synthesized poly(ethylene oxide)‐block‐poly(hexyl acrylate) block copolymer. A strategy to avoid corrosion of the metal substrate is presented, and the films are extensively characterized in terms of morphology ...

Using the Photostationary State of Arylazopyrazoles to Control Phase Transitions of Liquid Crystals
A series of new arylazopyrazole photoswitches is designed as dopants for liquid crystalline materials. Unprecedented, the distribution of photoisomers at the photostationary state upon irradiation with light of specific wavelengths (365, 460, 520 nm) is used to control the liquid crystalline phase transitions under isothermal conditions, including ...

We derive computational formulas for determining the Clairaut constant, i.e. the cosine of the maximum latitude of the geodesic arc, from two given points on the oblate ellipsoid of revolution. In all cases the Clairaut constant is unique.

A new class of living liquid metal composites is introduced, embedding Bacillus subtilis endospores into eutectic gallium–indium (EGaIn). The spores enhance droplet coalescence, strengthen interfacial conductivity, and provide on‐demand electrogenic functionality after germination. The composites exhibit high conductivity, self‐healing, patternability,

Predicting Atomic Charges in MOFs by Topological Charge Equilibration
An atomic charge prediction method is presented that is able to accurately reproduce ab‐initio‐derived reference charges for a large number of metal–organic frameworks. Based on a topological charge equilibration scheme, static charges that fulfill overall neutrality are quickly generated.

Stereoscopic spatial graphical method of Mueller matrix: Global-Polarization Stokes Ellipsoid
A Mueller matrix covers all the polarization information of the measured sample, however the combination of its 16 elements is sometimes not intuitive enough to describe and identify the key characteristics of polarization changes.

Determination the crystallographic information of hexagonal magnesium via X-ray diffraction profiles
Researching the crystallographic information is imperative in hexagonal magnesium. In this paper, the comparative evaluation on the crystallite size and shape, strain and texture are carried with semi-quantitively techniques, such as Williamson-hall ...

Encoding Magnetic Anisotropies in Digital Light Processing 3D Printing
A hybrid magnetic device—combining a coaxial coil within a nested Halbach array—is presented, integrated into a DLP 3D printer to enable spatially resolved magnetic field control. This system enables complex, multimodal responses by programming liquid crystal elastomer resins for magnetic and thermal actuation, and by inducing electrically conductive ...
