Ellipsoidal reflectors in biomedical diagnostic
SPIE Proceedings, 2013In this work were considered photometric tools for biomedical diagnostics, which contain a mirror ellipsoid of revolution. Proposed schemes with ellipsoidal reflectors for diagnostics in reflected and in reflected and transmitted light. A comparative analysis of measurement standards scattering surfaces was held.

Power focusing characteristics of ellipsoidal reflector
IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 1984Power focusing characteristics of a prolate spheroidal reflector, the aperture of which is parallel to the line connecting the two focuses, are numerically studied. As a transmitting and a receiving antenna, linear wires with finite length are placed at or near the focuses of the reflector. Reflected near fields from the reflector are calculated by the

Radiant heating using an ellipsoidal reflector
Journal of Physics E: Scientific Instruments, 1974A heat source positioned at one focus of a suitably shaped ellipsoidal reflector has been used to heat small objects placed at the other focus. With a tungsten-halogen lamp as the source, temperatures of the order of 1100 degrees C were obtained: substituting a conventional tungsten lamp allowed for greater flexibility in control at lower temperatures.

Blood glucose analysis by Raman spectrophotometer with ellipsoidal reflector
Photonics Applications in Astronomy, Communications, Industry, and High Energy Physics Experiments 2021, 2021Authors considered the possibility of designing a non-invasive biomedical Raman spectrophotometer for the near infrared range using an ellipsoidal reflector as a collecting and focusing optical element to evaluation the biological media components, particularly glucose level.

Optical biometry of biological tissues by ellipsoidal reflectors
SPIE Proceedings, 2013Possibilities of measuring systems that uses ellipsoidal reflectors for determining the optical parameters of biological tissue are studied. The modified inverse Monte Carlo method was designed for biomedical photometric system “biological tissue - ellipsoidal mirror”.

Ray tracing in ellipsoidal reflectors for optical biometry of media
Applied Optics, 2017In this paper, an analytical basis of ray tracing for optical biometry of media by ellipsoidal reflectors was developed. A ray-tracing algorithm was created, which involves determining the point of interaction of the incident beam with the ellipsoidal reflector, calculating the direction of the reflected beam, and determining the intersection point of ...

Aberrations of Ellipsoidal Reflectors for Unit Magnification
Applied Optics, 1974Ellipsoidal reflectors are useful for the 1:1 imaging of small objects without spherical and chromatic aberration. The magnitude of the off-axis aberrations of such reflectors is computed by application of Fermat's principle to the Hamiltonian point characteristic. The limiting form of the mirror aperture for which these aberrations do not exceed a set

Properties of the ellipsoidal reflector of the McDonald emissiometer
Infrared Physics, 1984Abstract The non-linear characteristic of the McDonald emissiometer INTEC Model 2145 is investigated. A reflection model yields a characteristic in very good agreement with the experimental data. The areal distribution of the sensitivity of the measuring head shows no azimuthal dependence.

The non-invasive optical glucometer prototype with ellipsoidal reflectors
2018 IEEE 59th International Scientific Conference on Power and Electrical Engineering of Riga Technical University (RTUCON), 2018The work is devoted to analyze the possibilities of creation of non-invasive optical glucometer based on photometry by ellipsoidal reflectors and Raman spectroscopy. The principles of optical glucose meter with ellipsoidal reflectors prototype development were proved. There demonstrates the dependency of Raman scattering signal in the system of optical
