Hyperoxia Induced Alteration of Chromatin Structure in Human Bone Marrow Derived Primary Mesenchymal Stromal Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
Chromatin, which organizes DNA, changes its structure to adapt to stress like high oxygen levels (hyperoxia), which can damage cells. Researchers developed a technique to observe these changes and found variability in how different parts of chromatin remodel.

Enhancing Corrosion Resistance and Mechanical Strength of 3D‐Printed Iron Polylactic Acid for Marine Applications via Laser Surface Texturing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Laser surface texturing significantly improves the corrosion resistance and mechanical strength of 3D‐printed iron polylactic acid (Ir‐PLA) for marine applications. Optimal laser parameters reduce corrosion by 80% and enhance tensile strength by 25% and ductility by 15%.

Compactness methods for Hölder estimates of certain degenerate elliptic equations

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2012
In this paper we obtain the interior $C^{1,\alpha}$ regularity of the quasilinear elliptic equations of divergence form. Our basic tools are the elementary local $L^\infty$ estimates and weak Harnack inequality for second-order linear elliptic equations,

Multiscale Modeling of Process‐Induced Defects in Fused Filament Fabrication‐Printed Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a predictive multiscale modeling tool for defect analysis of fused filament fabricated‐printed materials and their performance prediction using a mechanistic data science‐based reduced‐order modeling approach. Process‐induced defects are inherent to additively manufactured parts and significantly influence the performance of printed

Elliptic Solutions of ABS Lattice Equations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Elliptic N-soliton-type solutions, i.e. solutions emerging from the application of N consecutive B\"acklund transformations to an elliptic seed solution, are constructed for all equations in the ABS list of quadrilateral lattice equations, except for the

H\^older continuity of solutions of second-order non-linear elliptic integro-differential equations

open access: yes, 2010
This paper is concerned with H\"older regularity of viscosity solutions of second-order, fully non-linear elliptic integro-differential equations. Our results rely on two key ingredients: first we assume that, at each point of the domain, either the ...

Solving Elliptic Diophantine Equations Avoiding Thue Equations and Elliptic Logarithms [PDF]

open access: yesExperimental Mathematics, 1998
We determine the solutions in integers of the equation y2 = (x + p)(x2 + p2) for p = 167, 223, 337, 1201. The method used was suggested to us by Yu. Bilu, and is shown to be in some cases more efficient than other general purpose methods for solving such equations, namely the elliptic logarithms method and the use of Thue equations.

Residual Stress States in Microstructurally Graded PBF–LB/M Austenitic Steel Components

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study examines microstructurally graded 316L rectangular tube profiles fabricated via PBF–LB/M using a dual‐laser system. A 1 kW top‐hat and a 400 W Gaussian laser create distinct grain sizes and crystallographic texture. Mechanical properties are linked to microstructural evolution driven by processing conditions.

Modified Tetrahedron Equations and Related 3D Integrable Models

open access: yes, 1994
Using a modified version of the tetrahedron equations we construct a new family of $N$-state three-dimensional integrable models with commuting two-layer transfer-matrices.

Critical Sets of Elliptic Equations [PDF]

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, 2014
Given a solution u to a linear, homogeneous, second‐order elliptic equation with Lipschitz coefficients, we introduce techniques for giving improved estimates of the critical set 𝒷(u)u {x :|δu|(x) = 0}, as well as the first estimates on the effective critical set 𝒷r(u), which roughly consists of points x such that the gradient of u is small somewhere ...
