A Deployable 4D Printed, Mucoadhesive and Magnetically Guided Patch for Local Therapy of Gastric Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A new perspective for treatment of gastric cancer is proposed utilizing 4D printing to develop shape morphing, deployable, and magnetically guided local drug releasing patches. The deployed patches are envisioned to adhere at the tumor site to locally deliver high drug amounts.

Regularity of radial extremal solutions for some non local semilinear equations

open access: yes, 2010
We investigate stable solutions of elliptic equations of the type \begin{equation*} \left \{ \begin{aligned} (-\Delta)^s u&=\lambda f(u) \qquad {\mbox{ in $B_1 \subset \R^{n}$}} \\ u&= 0 \qquad{\mbox{ on $\partial B_1$,}}\end{aligned}\right .

Self‐Assembling Multi‐Antigen T Cell Hybridizers for Precision Immunotherapy of Multiple Myeloma

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A novel modular T‐cell engager platform, MATCH, is developed for personalized multiple myeloma therapy. MATCH uses complementary oligonucleotide‐linked Fab’ fragments to enable flexible targeting of MM antigens and controlled T‐cell activation. The system shows potent, antigen‐specific cytotoxicity in vitro and in vivo, highlighting its potential for ...

Darboux transformations for 5-point and 7-point self-adjoint schemes and an integrable discretization of the 2D Schrodinger operator

open access: yes, 2003
With this paper we begin an investigation of difference schemes that possess Darboux transformations and can be regarded as natural discretizations of elliptic partial differential equations.

Application of iteration functions to elliptic partial differential equations

open access: yesComputers & Mathematics with Applications, 1988
The authors formulate innovatively an iterative scheme combining two methods of different orders for solving linear or nonlinear elliptic boundary value problems. It is established that the iterative procedure which uses the solution of the lower order method gives the numerical solution of the higher order method just in one iteration.

An Ultrapotent, Ultraeconomical, Antifreeze Polypeptide

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Simple and inexpensive polypeptides composed of random copolymers of alanine and glutamic acid are effective antifreezes for applications in foods and biomedicine. The polypeptides, inspired by natural extremophile proteins, inhibit the growth of large ice crystals and prevent damage to sensitive biologics.

Simultaneous identification of diffusion and absorption coefficients in a quasilinear elliptic problem

open access: yes, 2013
In this work we consider the identifiability of two coefficients $a(u)$ and $c(x)$ in a quasilinear elliptic partial differential equation from observation of the Dirichlet-to-Neumann map.

An eigenvalue problem for nonlinear elliptic partial differential equations [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions of the American Mathematical Society, 1965
(1) U JOGD= Du JOG= = Dm'UIaG = 0, where A is a real number and f(t, x) is a real-valued function defined on R' x G with f (0, x) 0. Iff (u, x) u, the study of the boundary value problem (1) forms the foundation of the spectral analysis of A, a problem of great importance both in mathematics and its applications.

Light‐Harvesting Nanomaterials Based on Dyes for Energy Transfer and Amplified Biosensing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Light harvesting (LH) in plants inspires researchers to develop artificial LH nanomaterials. Here, LH nanomaterials based on organic dyes are reviewed, considering fundamental challenges on aggregation‐caused quenching, excitation energy transfer, and exciton migration length.

Existence of solutions for quasilinear elliptic equations involving a nonlocal term

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2015
This article establishes the existence of solutions for a partial differential equation involving a quasilinear elliptic operator and a nonlocal term.
