Ergothioneine supplementation improves pup phenotype and survival in a murine model of spinal muscular atrophy

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) is a genetic disease affecting motor neurons. Individuals with SMA experience mitochondrial dysfunction and oxidative stress. The aim of the study was to investigate the effect of an antioxidant and neuroprotective substance, ergothioneine (ERGO), on an SMNΔ7 mouse model of SMA.

Hamiltonian elliptic systems: a guide to variational frameworks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Consider a Hamiltonian elliptic system of type 8 < : u = Hv(u;v) in v = Hu(u;v) in u;v = 0 on @ where H is a power-type nonlinearity, for instance H(u;v) =juj p+1 =(p + 1) +jvj q+1 =(q + 1); having subcritical growth, and is a bounded domain of R N , N 1.

Investigating the cell of origin and novel molecular targets in Merkel cell carcinoma: a historic misnomer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study indicates that Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) does not originate from Merkel cells, and identifies gene, protein & cellular expression of immune‐linked and neuroendocrine markers in primary and metastatic Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) tumor samples, linked to Merkel cell polyomavirus (MCPyV) status, with enrichment of B‐cell and other immune cell

Gradient estimates and the fundamental solution for higher-order elliptic systems with rough coefficients [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
This paper considers the theory of higher-order divergence-form elliptic differential equations. In particular, we provide new generalizations of several well-known tools from the theory of second-order equations.

On elliptic solutions of the quintic complex one-dimensional Ginzburg-Landau equation

open access: yes, 2006
The Conte-Musette method has been modified for the search of only elliptic solutions to systems of differential equations. A key idea of this a priory restriction is to simplify calculations by means of the use of a few Laurent series solutions instead ...

Hyperoxia Induced Alteration of Chromatin Structure in Human Bone Marrow Derived Primary Mesenchymal Stromal Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
Chromatin, which organizes DNA, changes its structure to adapt to stress like high oxygen levels (hyperoxia), which can damage cells. Researchers developed a technique to observe these changes and found variability in how different parts of chromatin remodel.

Constructive Solution of Ellipticity Problem for the First Order Differential System

open access: yesМоделирование и анализ информационных систем, 2017
We built first order elliptic systems with any possible number of unknown functions and the maximum possible number of unknowns, i.e, in general. These systems provide the basis for studying the properties of any first order elliptic systems.

Hyperelliptic Integrable Systems on K3 and Rational Surfaces

open access: yes, 2000
We show several examples of integrable systems related to special K3 and rational surfaces (e.g., an elliptic K3 surface, a K3 surface given by a double covering of the projective plane, a rational elliptic surface, etc.).

Unrolling of Syngonium podophyllum: Functional Anatomy, Morphology and Modelling of Its Peltate Leaves

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
The unrolling of the peltate leaves in Syngonium podophyllum is analyzed and quantified (left‐hand side to center). These measurements serve to verify a mathematical model for leaf unrolling based on the model used in Schmidt (2007). An additional formula for obtaining a layer mismatch from a prescribed radius is derived.

Study on the generalized (p,q)$(p,q)$-Laplacian elliptic systems, parabolic systems and integro-differential systems

open access: yes, 2016
In this paper, we present the abstract results for the existence and uniqueness of the solution of nonlinear elliptic systems, parabolic systems and integro-differential systems involving the generalized (p,q)$(p,q)$-Laplacian operator.
