FaceIt: Real‐Time On‐Device Identity‐Preserving Portrait Animation

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
A real‐time, on‐device algorithm for animating a single portrait image using detailed facial expressions and motions from a driving video achieving visual quality that can outperform even techniques with significantly higher computational overhead. Abstract Recently, significant progress has been made in generating expressive and temporally coherent ...

The star formation history of early-type galaxies in the fornax cluster [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
We have measured central line strengths and line-strength gradients for a complete sample of early-type galaxies in the Fornax cluster, comprising 11 elliptical and 11 lenticular galaxies, more luminous than M(_B) = -17.

Spaceborne and spaceborn: Physiological aspects of pregnancy and birth during interplanetary flight

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract Crewed interplanetary return missions that are on the planning horizon will take years, more than enough time for initiation and completion of a pregnancy. Pregnancy is viewed as a sequence of processes – fertilization, blastocyst formation, implantation, gastrulation, placentation, organogenesis, gross morphogenesis, birth and neonatal ...

BerryBox: An affordable computer vision system for postharvest phenotyping of cranberry and other small fruits

open access: yesThe Plant Phenome Journal, Volume 9, Issue 1, December 2026.
Abstract Fruit size, shape, color, and percent fruit rot are important quality traits for breeding cranberry (Vaccinium macrocarpon Ait.). Image analysis can be used to measure these traits, but affordable hardware for standardized image capture and integrated user‐friendly software pipelines are lacking.

On the Formation of Elliptical Galaxies

open access: yes, 1994
It is shown that the violent relaxation of dissipationless stellar systems leads to universal de Vaucouleurs profiles only outside 1.5 effective radii $R_e$. Inside $1.5 R_e$ the surface density profiles depend strongly on the initial conditions and are in general not in agreement with the de Vaucouleurs law.

The Stellar Kinematics of Elliptical Galaxies [PDF]

open access: yesSymposium - International Astronomical Union, 1987
The kinematic properties of elliptical galaxies are summarized. New developments are discussed in four areas: (i) the Faber-Jackson relation and the role of second parameters (ii) the luminosity-rotation relation (iii) the figures of elliptical galaxies and (iv) the mass-to-light ratio as a function of radius.

Origin of color gradients in elliptical galaxies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
The origin of color gradients in elliptical galaxies is examined by comparing model gradients with those observed in the Hubble Deep Field. The models are constructed so as to reproduce color gradients in local elliptical galaxies either by a metallicity

New Observations of Cosmic Noise Absorption in the South American Magnetic Anomaly (SAMA) Using a Next‐Generation Riometer

open access: yesSpace Weather, Volume 24, Issue 7, July 2026.
Abstract This study reports the first observations of cosmic noise power (CNP) and cosmic noise absorption (CNA) obtained with a next‐generation riometer installed at the Southern Space Observatory (SSO/INPE) in Brazil, located within the South American Magnetic Anomaly (SAMA).
