Law of Distribution of Breaking Elongation of Yarn
Fibre Chemistry, 2019The peculiarities of stochastic estimation of breaking elongation of yarns from various materials are studied. The experimental data do not contradict the hypotheses about application of any of the three common distribution laws. The link between breaking load and elongation is significant in all cases.

Deformation and Break-up of Droplets in Elongational Flow
1988Polymer blends and other two-phase systems are formed in blenders, in which shear and elongational flows induce deformation and break-up of the dispersed phase. For elongational flow, stationary as well as time-dependent, theory predicts deformation and break-up quite well.

On the mechanism of stretching and breaking of polymers in elongational flows
Journal of Non-Newtonian Fluid Mechanics, 1988Abstract We show that some of the experimental results on the stretching and fracture of isolated polymers in elongational flows do not agree with existing theoretical predictions. We suggest that the difficulties stem from the assumption of an abrupt transition from a uniformly deformed coil to a fully stretched state of the polymer and that the ...

Breaking Elongation Properties of Hybrid Yarns by Commingling Process
Materials Science Forum, 2006This paper is concerned the breaking elongation properties of Carbon/Aramid-, Carbon/Glass- and Aramid/Glass- matrix hybridized commingling yarns. The hybrid yarns produced by commingling process were investigated in terms of breaking elongation property. In experiments, carbon (CF), aramid (AF), and glass (GF) filament yarns were combined.

On the nature and origin of DNA strand breaks in elongating spermatids.
Biology of reproduction, 2005Transient DNA strand breaks are generated in the whole population of elongating spermatids and are perfectly coincident with histone H4 hyperacetylation at chromatin-remodeling steps. Given the limited DNA repair capacity of elongating spermatids, chromatin remodeling may present a threat to genetic integrity of the male gamete.

Influence weave and threads density on breaking force and elongation
2003A fabric is a textile construction in which two thread systems – warp and weft threads – interlace at right angle. The way of threads interlacing, i.e. the fabric weave, is the most important constructional parameter besides the threads density and count. Constructional parameters significantly affect the look, mechanical and physical, permeability and
