Electrolyte Interfacial Reactivity Regulates Alloying Anode Pulverization

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Electrolyte interfacial reactivity governs the degradation of micrometer‐sized alloying anodes by dictating grain refinement and SEI growth. A high‐reactivity ester‐based electrolyte drives pulverization into fine nanoparticles encapsulated by a thick SEI, forming dense electrodes, whereas a low‐reactivity ether‐based electrolyte enables porous ...

Cross-national differences in the association between estimated cardiorespiratory fitness and depressive symptoms among older adults: findings from three nationwide cohort studies

open access: yesBMC Medicine
Background Cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) is a modifiable risk factor for chronic diseases, but its association with depressive symptoms remains unclear, particularly across different populations.

Blockchain‐Based Smart Contracts in US Specialty Crop Marketing: Grower Preferences and Adoption Potential

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Using survey and discrete choice experiment data, we examined US specialty crop growers' preferences for marketing contract attributes in the context of emerging blockchain‐based technologies and expanding traceability initiatives. Results show that farmers preferred traditional written contracts but might be willing to accept digital ...

A Pooled CRISPR Screen Reveals Genes Critical for Erythroblast Enucleation

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Hematology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Terminal erythroid differentiation involves dramatic cellular remodeling that culminates in the expulsion of the nucleus, a process known as enucleation. While enucleation is conserved across mammals and is crucial for the generation of fully functional erythrocytes, the mechanisms governing this process have remained largely unknown, in part ...

Functionalization and Metal Ion Encapsulation Within a Triaxial Supramolecular Weave

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
The functionalization of a triaxially woven supramolecular weave was achieved. Pre‐assembly modification of the peptide‐perylene monoimide building block enabled facile and homogeneous introduction of acetyl, pivaloyl and thiophene moieties throughout the assembly without disrupting the woven structure.

A Case of Multiple Mitochondrial Dysfunctions Syndrome 1 and Review of the Literature

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Multiple mitochondrial dysfunctions syndrome 1 (MMDS1, MIM #605711) due to NFU1 gene defects is an ultra‐rare autosomal recessive inborn error of metabolism associated with reduced function of NFU1 iron–sulfur cluster (ISC) scaffold protein.

Synergistic Silylium‐Ion and Palladium Catalysis Enables Migratory Alkene Silylation With Allylsilanes by Formal C–H/C–Si Metathesis

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Merging silylium‐ion and palladium catalysis provides a mechanistically distinct route to allylsilanes by formal C–H/Si–H metathesis. Using allylsilanes as silicon proelectrophiles, various allylarenes undergo migrative silylation, selectively yielding (E)‐allylsilanes.
