Climatic niche position determines post‐fire resilience in Mediterranean forests
Post‐fire forest resilience depends not only on fire severity and fire characteristics but also on the climatic niche position of the forests. As climate warms and the frequency and intensity of fires increase, forest species will be pushed towards the dry edge of their climatic niches, likely increasing their vulnerability. Abstract Fires are a common

A logic of graph conditions extended with paths [PDF]
In this paper we tackle the problem of extending the logic of nested graph conditions with paths. This means, for instance, that we may state properties about the existence of paths between some given nodes.

Light- and strange-quark mass dependence of the $\rho(770)$ meson revisited [PDF]
Recent lattice data on $\pi\pi$-scattering phase shifts in the vector-isovector channel, pseudoscalar meson masses and decay constants for strange-quark masses smaller or equal to the physical value allow us to study the strangeness dependence of these ...

Ecological acclimation: A framework to integrate fast and slow responses to climate change
Read the free Plain Language Summary for this article on the Journal blog. Abstract Ecological responses to climate change occur across vastly different time‐scales, from minutes for physiological plasticity to decades or centuries for community turnover and evolutionary adaptation. Accurately predicting the range of ecosystem trajectories will require

Climatic disequilibrium modulates canopy service across abiotic stress gradients
The results presented indicate that abiotic stressors, combined with climatic disequilibrium, modulate the canopy service. Consequently, under future climate change scenarios that may increase stress and climatic disequilibrium, canopy service will become crucial for the maintenance of the recruiting community.
