Red fescue undersown in winter wheat suppresses Elytrigia repens

Weed Research, 2010
Bergkvist G, Adler A, Hansson M & Weih M (2010). Red fescue undersown in winter wheat suppresses Elytrigia repens. Weed Research50, 447–455.Summary Elytrigia repens (syn. Elymus repens) is a perennial grass weed that is controlled by herbicides or by tillage. Both methods are expensive and may have negative effects on the environment.

Meiosis in Triticum aestivum × Elytrigia repens hybrids

Canadian Journal of Genetics and Cytology, 1986
The average meiotic configuration in Triticum aestivum × Elytrigia repens hybrids was 31.951 + 4.97 II + 0.03 IV per cell. Chromosome synapsis was likely due to autosyndesis between chromosomes of the S genomes and not due to intergenomic homology.Key words: hybrids, intergeneric, Elytrigia repens, Triticum aestivum, chromosome synapsis.

Adjuvant-Increased Glyphosate Uptake by Protoplasts Isolated from QuackgrassElytrigia repens(L.) Nevski

Weed Science, 1996
Protoplasts were isolated from quackgrass to investigate the influence of two surfactants and ammonium sulfate on glyphosate uptake. Without adjuvants, the uptake of glyphosate was not detectable. The uptake of the reference compound 2-aminoisobutyric acid was linear with time and was inhibited 60% in the presence of 10 μM carbonyl cyanidem ...

Response of four quackgrass (Elytrigia repens (L) Nevski) biotypes to desiccation

Canadian Journal of Plant Science, 1994
The response of four quackgrass biotypes to desiccation was investigated. Rhizomes from field populations of each biotype were harvested at four predetermined dates over 1 yr. At each harvest date, rhizomes were transferred to the laboratory and subjected to four levels of desiccation.

Translocation of Glyphosate, Quizalofop, and Sucrose in Quackgrass (Elytrigia repens) Biotypes

Weed Science, 1993
The translocation pattern and distribution in rhizomes of14C-glyphosate,14C-quizalofop, and14C-sucrose was examined in five quackgrass biotypes. Translocation of radioactivity in the different plant parts varied among biotypes. Translocation in the whole plant after treatment with the three14C-chemicals varied among biotypes but was not correlated with

Genes Encoding Hevein-Like Antimicrobial Peptides from Elytrigia repens (L.) Desv. ex Nevski

Russian Journal of Genetics, 2018
Earlier, we discovered a gene family encoding hevein-like antimicrobial peptides (WAMP) in the highly resistant wheat species Triticum kiharae Dorof. et Migusch. and related species of the Triticum and Aegilops genera. These peptides suppress growth and development of fungi and bacteria by inhibition of secreted metalloproteinases of the pathogens.

[Pantoea agglomerans--pathogen of Elytrigia repens and Arrhenatherum elatius diseases].

Mikrobiolohichnyi zhurnal (Kiev, Ukraine : 1993), 2007
Strains of Pantoea agglomerans were isolated from the samples with symptoms of bacterial damage of various organs of Elytrigia repens and Arrhenatherum elatius. The isolated bacteria are aggressive to different extent for a host-plant and a number of cultivated plants. Some problems of evolution of this bacterial species parasitism are discussed.

The Resistance of Phleum pratense and Elytrigia repens to High Concentrations of Zinc

Biology Bulletin, 2018
The influence of increased zinc concentrations on seed germination, growth activity, photosynthetic apparatus, and water metabolism in two perennial grasses (Phleum pratense L. and Elytrigia repens (L.) Nevski) was studied in laboratory and vegetation experiments to assess plant metal tolerance. In laboratory conditions it was established that seeds of

Quackgrass (Elytrigia repens) Interference in Canola (Brassica campestris)

Weed Science, 1991
The effects of quackgrass shoot populations shortly after emergence, and dry weight at harvest on yield of canola were determined in four field experiments conducted near Vegreville, Alberta in 1986 and 1988. A hyperbolic model described the data well in most cases and indicated little intraspecific quackgrass interference among quackgrass shoots until
