Diversity and distribution of Raunkiær's life forms in European vegetation

We analysed the diversity and distribution of plant life forms across Europe. Hemicryptophytes dominate in central Europe, while therophytes and chamaephytes thrive in the Mediterranean and dry temperate regions, and chamaephytes also in northern Europe.
