Generation cycles in experimental populations of a multivoltine insect

open access: yesJournal of Animal Ecology, Volume 95, Issue 5, Page 782-794, May 2026.
Although theory suggests various mechanisms by which environmental and ecological factors may drive generational fluctuations, our field‐cage experiment is the first to demonstrate how internal dynamics and external disturbances jointly produce synchronised, large‐scale outbreak cycles.

Evaluation of the effectiveness of insecticide trunk injections for control of Latoia lepida (Cramer) in the sweet olive tree Osmanthus fragrans [PDF]

open access: yesPeerJ, 2016
The screening of suitable insecticides is a key factor in successfully applying trunk injection technology to ornamental plants. In this study, six chemical pesticides were selected and injected into the trunks of Osmanthus fragrans to control the nettle

Emamectin benzoate 9.7% SL as a new formulation for a trunk-injections against pine wood nematode,Bursaphelenchus xylophilus

open access: yes, 2020
In this study, we investigated the preventive effects of emamectin benzoate 9.7% SL, which was newly developed to reduce the injection volume and number of injection holes required to protect against pine wood nematode.

Efficacy, residue dissipation, and consumer safety of emamectin benzoate, thiamethoxam, and chlorantraniliprole in tomato fruits

open access: yesHeliyon
The tomato leafminer (Tuta absoluta) poses a serious threat to tomato production and requires effective, residue-safe control measures. This study evaluated the efficacy, residue dissipation, and dietary risk of three insecticides—emamectin benzoate ...

Breeding cold‐tolerant Orius laevigatus lines improves thermal tolerance and body size: implications for biological control

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 82, Issue 4, Page 3011-3018, April 2026.
Biological control agents performance is influenced by temperature. Two cold‐tolerant lines of O. loevigatus were developed, improving their fitness at both low and high temperatures, offering advantages far augmentative biological control. Abstract BACKGROUND The performance of biological control agents (BCAs) is strongly influenced by environmental ...

Field persistence of certain new insecticides and their efficacy against black cutworm, Agrotis ipsilon (Hufnagel)

open access: yesBulletin of the National Research Centre, 2021
Background Chemical control is used as a rapid and reliable method for insect control. Still, there is an ongoing need to replace older conventional insecticides with new insecticides to maintain efficacy and environmental protection. Emamectin benzoate,

Discovery of murayaquinone from an endophytic bacterium Streptomyces sp. AN140557 as a potent inhibitor of the pine wood nematode, Bursaphelenchus xylophilus

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 82, Issue 2, Page 1765-1775, February 2026.
Murayaquinone isolated from the pine endophyte Streptomyces sp. AN140557 exhibits potent, dose‐dependent nematicidal activity and egg‐hatching inhibition against the pine wood nematode. It effectively inhibited pine wilt disease in greenhouse tests, suggesting potential as a promising biocontrol agent.

Preparation and Physicochemical Characteristics of Polylactide Microspheres of Emamectin Benzoate by Modified Solvent Evaporation/Extraction Method

open access: yes, 2016
Emamectin benzoate is highly effective against insect pests and widely used in the world. However, its biological activity is limited because of high resistance of target insects and rapid degradation speed in fields.
