Fixation and Embedding

2003
For electron microscopic immunocytochemistry, the fixation procedure is always a compromise between good morphological preservation and retention of antigenicity. The choice of fixative depends on whether the immunogold labeling will be done before or after the samples are embedded and on how resistant the antigen is to fixation.

Embedding of Embedding (EOE)

Proceedings of the Tenth ACM International Conference on Web Search and Data Mining, 2017
Network embedding is increasingly employed to assist network analysis as it is effective to learn latent features that encode linkage information. Various network embedding methods have been proposed, but they are only designed for a single network scenario.

Building embedded systems with embedded DSLs

Proceedings of the 19th ACM SIGPLAN international conference on Functional programming, 2014
We report on our experiences in synthesizing a fully-featured autopilot from embedded domain-specific languages (EDSLs) hosted in Haskell. The autopilot is approximately 50k lines of C code generated from 10k lines of EDSL code and includes control laws, mode logic, encrypted communications system, and device drivers.

Embedded Landscapes

Evolutionary Computation, 2002
In this paper we introduce embedded landscapes as an extension of NK landscapes and MAXSAT problems. This extension is valid for problems where the representation can be expressed as a simple sum of subfunctions over subsets of the representation domain.

Embedding the Embryo

1998
Abstract Questions about embryos are rarely addressed to social scientists: the fact that they tend to contextualize issues rather than inquire into their universal logical and moral properties may seem to circumvent essential discussions about life, individualization, humanness, and personhood that appear crucial to the solution of ...
