Fat Embolism

open access: yesCritical Care and Resuscitation, 1999
To review the pathophysiology and management of patients with clinical manifestations of fat embolism.A review of studies reported from 1976 to 1998 and identified through a MEDLINE search of the literature on fat embolism and fat embolism syndrome.Fat embolism occurs when bony or soft tissue trauma has caused fat to enter the circulation, or in ...

METTL14‐Mediated M6A Modification of LINC01094 Induces Glucose Metabolic Reprogramming in Breast Cancer by Recruiting the PKM2/JMJD5 Complex

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
METTL14/IGF2BP2‐mediated m6A modification drives LINC01094 upregulation in BC. Then, LINC01094 interacts with PKM2 monomers to promote their dimerization, while serving as a flexible scaffold to facilitate the assembly of the PKM2/JMJD5 complex, synergistically stabilizing PKM2 dimers and enhancing their nuclear translocation.

MYC/TET3‐Regulated TMEM65 Activates OXPHOS‐SERPINB3 Pathway to Promote Progression and Cisplatin Resistance in Triple‐Negative Breast Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Triple‐negative breast cancer (TNBC) remains a major challenge in breast cancer management as it lacks effective therapeutic targets. This study uncovers that MYC/TET3‐regulated mitochondrial inner‐membrane protein TMEM65 promotes TNBC progression and cisplatin resistance by activating the OXPHOS‐SERPINB3 pathway and reveals TMEM65 as a potential ...

Síndrome da angústia respiratória do adulto por embolia gordurosa no período pós-operatório de lipoaspiração e lipoenxertia Adult respiratory distress syndrome due to fat embolism in the postoperative period following liposuction and fat grafting

Single‐Cell RNA Sequencing Delineates Renal Anti‐Fibrotic Mechanisms Mediated by TRPC6 Inhibition

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Single‐cell transcriptomics reveals how TRPC6 inhibition alters renal cell composition and gene expression in CKD. The study uncovers a novel endothelial subpopulation (ECRIN), highlights key inflammatory and fibrotic pathways, and identifies a Prnp‐driven network linked to fibrosis resolution, offering mechanistic insight into TRPC6 as a potential ...

Interleukin-6 as an early marker for fat embolism

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Research, 2009
Background Fat Embolism is a complication of long bone fractures, intramedullary fixation and joint arthroplasty. It may progress to fat embolism syndrome, which is rare but involves significant morbidity and can occasionally be fatal.
