Embryo Transfer in Cattle: Nonsurgical Transfer
American Journal of Veterinary Research, 1980SUMMARY Four experiments were conducted to define reasons for failure of nonsurgical transfer of bovine embryos. Single embryos were transferred to the uterine horn ipsilateral to the corpus luteum-bearing ovary 6 to 9 days after estrus. All recipient heifers were within ± 24 hours of heat synchrony with the donors.

Seminars in Reproductive Medicine, 2001
The high incidence of multiple pregnancy is a major side effect of assisted reproductive technology that has recently given rise to justified criticism from different sides. The reasons for the high incidence of multiple pregnancies are discussed and a brief review is given of the steps that have been proposed to solve or at least reduce the problem ...

Single Embryo Transfer: Significance of the Embryo Transfer Technique
2015Single embryo transfer (SET) has been hailed as perhaps the only foolproof solution to avoid the incidence of multiple pregnancy, a significant complication of assisted reproductive technology (ART). While SET has remained successful in its motive of avoiding multiple pregnancy, the challenge of ensuring a positive clinical pregnancy and eventually a ...
