Compaction‐defective embryonal carcinoma cell variants

AbstractCompaction of the morula is a prerequisite for subsequent differentiation of the mouse embryo. Analogous differentiation follows compaction in aggregates of several embryonal carcinoma cell lines. This report describes the isolation of two compaction‐defective variants from the H6 embryonal carcinoma cell line.

Embryonal carcinoma is a yellowish-red tumor infiltrating the uterine horn. Metastases are observed in the peritoneum, in the paraaortic lymph nodes, and in the lungs. In the peritoneal cavity hemorrhagic, opaque fluid is present.
