Measurement of the muon decay spectrum with the ICARUS liquid Argon TPC

open access: yes, 2004
Examples are given which prove the ICARUS detector quality through relevant physics measurements. We study the muon decay energy spectrum from a sample of stopping muon events acquired during the test run of the ICARUS T600 detector. This detector allows

Interfacial Solvent Molecular Engineering via High‐Safety Dense Separators for High‐Rate Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
The dense PPS‐separator prevents thermal runaway by allowing electron transfer through the steel needle during penetration, while the residual electrolyte enables brief ion migration and Joule heating, causing rapid electrolyte vaporization, collapse of the ion transport network, and a sharp drop in ionic conductivity.

EMCS: The Exomars Climate Sounder (EMCS) investigation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The ExoMars Climate Sounder (EMCS) investigation plans to map daily, global, pole-to-pole profiles of temperature, dust, water and CO2 ices, and water vapor from the proposed 2016 ExoMars Trace Gas Orbiter (EMTGO). The measurements cover all local times, adding a new dimension to data previously obtained from sun-synchronous spacecraft.

Architecture of Semiconductive Macroporous Polymer Scaffold to Realize Ultra‐Fast Charging in Lithium Metal Batteries

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
To achieve stable and zero‐expansion Li deposition at high charge rate in lithium metal batteries, a multifunctional macroporous scaffold utilizing the semiconducting properties of PPy is developed. This rationally engineered scaffold enables stable and dendrite‐free plating/stripping without volume expansion even at high current densities of 5 C rate,

Searching for flavor dependence in nuclear quark behavior

open access: yes, 2019
The observed correlation between the EMC effect and the contribution of short-range correlations (SRCs) in nuclei suggests that the modification of the quark distributions of bound protons and neutrons might occur within SRCs. This raises the possibility

Nickel‐Catalyzed LiF‐Rich Interface for Silicon Anodes

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Modulating the decomposition of F‐containing species in the electrolyte to form LiF‐rich SEI has been proven to be an effective strategy for interface optimization. Herein, through nickel‐catalyzed pyrolysis of carbon precursors on silicon, graphene‐like carbon was formed to construct three‐dimensional conductive networks.

Trendelenburg positioning with or without norepinephrine infusion for haemodynamic support in anaesthetised hypovolemic horses

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Intraoperative haemorrhage during equine anaesthesia is a rare but potentially fatal complication requiring prompt haemodynamic support. Postural manoeuvres such as Trendelenburg (TL) positioning and vasopressor support augment venous return and improve cardiac output (CO), yet their efficacy in anaesthetised hypovolemic horses ...

Radiometric Constraints on the Timing, Tempo, and Effects of Large Igneous Province Emplacement

open access: yesGeophysical Monograph Series, Page 27-82., 2021

Exploring the links between Large Igneous Provinces and dramatic environmental impact

An emerging consensus suggests that Large Igneous Provinces (LIPs) and Silicic LIPs (SLIPs) are a significant driver of dramatic global environmental and biological changes, including mass extinctions.
