Two‐Layer Anisotropy Beneath Subduction Zones: Bayesian Inversion

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, Volume 131, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract Shear‐wave splitting measurements have the potential to constrain multiple layers of anisotropy and thereby enhance depth resolution. Using the formulation of Silver and Savage (1994, https://doi.org/10.1111/j.1365‐246x.1994.tb04027.x), previous studies have employed deterministic grid‐search approaches to identify best‐fitting two‐layer ...

Management of retinopathy of prematurity in a tertiary referral neonatal intensive care unit: Treatment rates and the impact of outsourcing laser therapy

open access: yesActa Ophthalmologica, Volume 104, Issue 4, Page e416-e425, June 2026.
Abstract Purpose To describe the treatment rate for retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) at a tertiary referral neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) in the south‐western region of the Netherlands. In addition, we evaluated the impact of outsourcing laser treatment, implemented in 2018, by comparing treatment characteristics from 3 years prior and 3 years ...

Local authorities' capacity to advance climate action in the food and farming sectors

open access: yesArea, Volume 58, Issue 2, June 2026.
Abstract The mitigation measures needed in the face of climate change require transformation in the production and consumption of food. This paper examines local authorities' role in driving practical transformation in the food and farming sectors at the local level, reflecting on the complexity of these sectors and the implications for the effective ...

Evaluation of combined root exudate and rhizosphere microbiota sampling approaches to elucidate plant–soil–microbe interactions

open access: yesNew Phytologist, Volume 250, Issue 6, Page 4077-4092, June 2026.
Summary Deciphering the root exudate‐driven interplay between plants and the rhizosphere microbiota is essential for understanding plant adaptation to the environment and future‐proofing crop production. However, sampling root exudates and rhizosphere soil remains challenging due to the low throughput and destructive nature of the process.

Improvement of cDNA TRAP Display via Optimization of Puromycin Linker Design for Enhanced Discovery of Antibody‐Like Proteins

open access: yesChemBioChem, Volume 27, Issue 10, 27 May 2026.
The formation efficiency of the antibody‐like protein–puromycin linker/mRNA complex (display efficiency) has been improved in cDNA TRAP display. We optimized the puromycin linker design by modifying the structure and sequence at the 5’ end and the position of the puromycin moiety, achieving a 1.8‐fold increase in display efficiency.

Mechanochemical‐Assisted HF‐Free Etching of V2AlC for Tuning Interlayer Spacing and Electrochemical Behavior of V2CTx MXene Anodes

open access: yesChemElectroChem, Volume 13, Issue 10, 19 May 2026.
We present a mechanochemical‐assisted HF‐free strategy for synthesizing V2CTx MXene, enabling enhanced Al removal, expanded interlayer spacing, and improved electrochemical performance. The optimized sample delivers high capacity and rate capability, driven by pseudocapacitive behavior.
