Programmable Stepwise Heteroepitaxial Growth of Colloidal Crystals With Different Phases

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Stepwise heteroepitaxial growth is adapted to colloidal crystal engineering with DNA, enabling face‐centered cubic (fcc) facets to grow on body‐centered cubic (bcc) crystals with 110 facets. This approach tolerates large lattice mismatches, extending heteroepitaxy beyond the limits of conventional atomic systems.

BioEISense: A Microfluidic Platform for Real‐Time Monitoring of Staphylococcus aureus Biofilm Formation and the Efficacy of Antibiofilm Agents

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
BioEISense is a microfluidic device with integrated impedance sensors, for real‐time, label‐free monitoring of S. aureus biofilms. In this study, the biofilm culture conditions were optimized to support sensitive and reproducible detection of biofilm formation and eradication under dynamic flow‐through conditions. The system was also validated for both

Smart and Sustainable Sizing: Investigating the Sensing Behavior of Glass Fabrics Coated With Waterborne Polyurethane/Graphene Dispersions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Waterborne polyurethane/graphene formulations are developed as piezoresistive coatings on glass fabric to enable flexible strain sensing. The graphene‐enabled conductive network provides a stable electromechanical response under cyclic compression. The coating demonstrates reliable pressure‐dependent resistance changes, highlighting its potential for ...

A hybrid strategy using an ambulance and a helicopter to convey thrombectomy candidates to definite care: a prospective observational study

open access: yesBMC Emergency Medicine
Background Mechanical thrombectomy is the treatment of choice for large vessel occlusion strokes done only in comprehensive stroke centres (CSC). We investigated whether the transportation time of thrombectomy candidates from another hospital district ...

The impact of emergency medical services in acute heart failure [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Background: Real-life data on the role of emergency medical services (EMS) in acute heart failure (AHF) are scarce. Our aim was to describe prehospital treatment of AHF and to compare patients using EMS with self-presented, non-EMS patients.
