Journal of the National Academy of Forensic Engineers, 1989 This paper discusses the theory of emergency braking as it applies to the 1986 Skid Test conducted by the Georgia Public Safety Training Center. In this paper, the mathematical equation for emergency braking is developed in terms of the drag forces which bring a vehicle to rest. This equation is reduced to its statistically significant elements.
