Solvent‐Free Thermal Defect Engineering in Molecular Frameworks With Volatile Linkers

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Thermal removal of neutral volatile linkers enables precise and solvent‐free generation of metal vacancies in MOFs. This strategy affords redox‐stable, coordinatively unsaturated FeII sites with tunable spin, ligand coordination, and catalytic behavior. The approach offers a general route to design defect‐functional materials through local coordination

Tuning Amorphous‐Crystalline Catalytic Interfaces by Mechanochemistry: Cu‐Based Metallic Glasses Coupled with Ceria for CO Oxidation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Ball‐milling Cu‐based metallic glasses with ceria creates a unique nanostructure where metallic glass particles are wrapped by CeO2 nanoparticles. The intimate integration triggers copper state reorganization during reaction and aging, boosting CO oxidation and COPrOx activity.

Opportunities of Semiconducting Oxide Nanostructures as Advanced Luminescent Materials in Photonics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The review discusses the challenges of wide and ultrawide bandgap semiconducting oxides as a suitable material platform for photonics. They offer great versatility in terms of tuning microstructure, native defects, doping, anisotropy, and micro‐ and nano‐structuring. The review focuses on their light emission, light‐confinement in optical cavities, and

Emerging Treatments in Schizophrenia

The Journal of Clinical Psychiatry, 2022
Although antipsychotics have been available for almost 70 years and greatly improved outcomes for individuals with schizophrenia, all currently available options derive their efficacy from blockade of dopaminergic receptors. However, this mechanism of action leaves many symptoms unresolved and is associated with a significant side effect burden.

Emerging Treatments in Dementia

European Neurology, 1997
Dementia is one of the most common organic mental syndromes, usually caused by Alzheimer's disease (AD) or vascular dementia (VD) or both. Regarding AD we review the state or the art of the cholinergic approach and discuss some future options regarding preventive and nonsymptomatic strategies.

Emergency Treatment of Tachyarrhythmias

Medical Clinics of North America, 1986
The diagnosis, clinical aspects, and emergency treatment of the most common cardiac arrhythmias, including atrial flutter and fibrillation, paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia, the Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, ventricular tachycardia, and torsades de pointes, are discussed. The use of the antiarrhythmic drugs most frequently utilized in clinical

Emerging treatments for asthma

Expert Opinion on Emerging Drugs, 2003
Despite the availability of a great number of medications, the asthma epidemic is continuing to increase. It is obvious that a high, unmet medical need remains and innovative therapeutic agents are urgently required. Existing therapies, such as beta-agonists and corticosteroids, provide relief for sufferers of mild-to-moderate asthma, reversing the ...
