Use of single fiber EMG and macro EMG in study of reinnervation
Muscle and Nerve, 1990AbstractThe use of single iber EMG and macro EMG in studies of reinnervation is discussed. SFEMG gives information about changes in the topography of the motor unit and in function of transmission in terminal nerve, motor endplate and muscle fiber. Dynamics of reinnervation may be studied with this technique.

While most neurophysiologists are familiar with electromyography (EMG) for the purpose of clinical diagnostics, this technique also has a long tradition for neuro-monitoring. In short, intra-operative use of EMG can be divided into stimulated EMG on the one hand and monitoring of the free-running EMG and its spontaneous activity on the other hand ...

EMG-EMG correlation analysis for human hand movements
2013 IEEE Workshop on Robotic Intelligence in Informationally Structured Space (RiiSS), 2013In this paper, a novel electromyogram (EMG)-EMG correlation analysis method is proposed to identify human hand movements. Mutual information (MI) measure is employed to analyse the ordinal pattern of the surface EMG recordings. The MI measure is extracted from EMG signals and compared with other various sEMG features in the time and frequency domains ...

Design of Microcontroller-Based EMG and the Analysis of EMG Signals
Journal of Medical Systems, 2002In this work, a microcontroller-based EMG designed and tested on 40 patients. When the patients are in rest, the fast Fourier transform (FFT) analysis was applied to EMG signals recorded from right leg peroneal region. The histograms are constructed from the results of the FFT analysis.

EMG Circuit Design and AR Analysis of EMG Signs
Journal of Medical Systems, 2004In this study, electromyogram (EMG) circuit was designed and tested on 27 people. Autoregressive (AR) analysis of EMG signals recorded on the ulnar nerve region of the right hand in resting position was performed. AR method, especially in the calculation of the spectrums of stable signs, is used for frequency analysis of signs, which give frequency ...

The role of EMG awareness in EMG biofeedback learning
Biofeedback and Self-Regulation, 1995Underlying most research on biofeedback learning is a theoretical model of the processes involved. The current study tested a prediction from the Awareness Model: High initial EMG awareness should facilitate response control during EMG biofeedback training.

Macro-EMG in mitochondriopathy
Clinical Neurophysiology, 1999In a previous macro-EMG study on patients with mitochondriopathy, macro-MUAP amplitude has been shown to be the electromyographic parameter most often abnormal. We wanted to investigate the role of the macro-MUAP area and if macro-EMG is more helpful than conventional needle-EMG in detecting involvement of the skeletal muscle in patients with ...
