This paper studies the relationship between emigration, immigration and the bilateral foreign direct investments (FDI), inward and outward, between Italy and 51 foreign countries. The results suggest that the networks of Italian emigrants abroad significantly promote both inward and outward bilateral FDI.

From Immigration to Emigration in Spain [PDF]
Spain is an example of an EU country in which the culture of migration is here described. The history of migration, migration flows and economic indicators as push factors are presented. In comparison with the analysed cases of Lithuania and Portugal, it is noticeable that earlier immigrants to Spain became emigrants during the last emigration period.
