Temporal trends in incidence and mortality of colorectal cancer in Denmark from 2007 to 2022

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, EarlyView.
What's New? Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most common cancer in the Western world. Widespread use of screening programs has helped raise awareness of the disease and improve survival rates. To make sure screening, treatment, research, and education goals stay relevant, it is important to collect accurate population‐based estimates of CRC ...

Screening outcomes at second FIT screening in individuals with a first time negative FIT‐result or low‐risk adenomas: Results from a nationwide FIT screening program

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, EarlyView.
What's New? Fecal immunochemical test (FIT) screening is increasingly common as a population‐based screening tool for colorectal cancer (CRC). If the follow‐up colonoscopy after a positive FIT detects only low‐risk adenomas, those participants are recommended to continue biennial screenings, the same as people with negative FIT results.

Quantifying community keystoneness in metacommunities under disturbance

open access: yesOikos, EarlyView.
Understanding how metacommunities respond to natural and anthropogenic disturbances is a key objective in ecology. In this study, we introduce an analytical framework to identify communities whose extirpation triggers stronger (hereafter keystone communities) or weaker (hereafter idle communities) cascading effects on extinction and colonization events

Understanding contingency in wolf‐mediated livestock predation across a mosaic of land uses: An agent‐based modelling approach

open access: yesPeople and Nature, EarlyView.
Abstract The return of grey wolves to multi‐use landscapes in North America and Europe raises concerns over accompanying risks of livestock predation. While local‐level risk factors have received attention, it is difficult to explore the role that landscape‐scale variables, such as landscape connectivity, play in driving livestock losses.

Long‐Term Projections of Childhood Cancer Incidence and Prevalence in Ontario, Canada Until 2040

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background The prevalence of childhood cancer continues to rise due to increases in cancer incidence and advances in treatment, leading to better survival. We generated epidemiologic projections for childhood cancer, by cancer type, in Ontario, Canada, until 2040.

Advancing pharmacometrics in Africa—Transition from capacity development toward job creation

open access: yesCPT: Pharmacometrics &Systems Pharmacology, Volume 14, Issue 3, Page 407-419, March 2025.
Abstract Trained pharmacometricians remain scarce in Africa due to limited training opportunities, lack of a pharmaceutical product development ecosystem, and emigration to high‐income countries. The Applied Pharmacometrics Training (APT) fellowship program was established to address these gaps and specifically foster job creation for talent retention.

Movement of Walleye in Lewis and Clark Lake Inferred From Acoustic Telemetry

open access: yesRiver Research and Applications, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Walleye Sander vitreus is an economically important sport fish species with highly variable movement patterns, with individuals exhibiting site residency and others moving up to 350 km. Movement patterns of walleye are affected by both river regulation and shifting environmental conditions.
