Long-Term Spectroscopic Monitoring and Surveys of Early-Type Stars with and without Circumstellar Envelopes

open access: yesOpen Astronomy, 2017
Ongoing studies of different groups of stars result in improving our knowledge of their fundamental parameters and evolutionary status. Also, they result in finding new phases of stellar evolution, which require theoretical explanation. At the same time,

Newly discovered Wolf-Rayet and weak emission-line central stars of planetary nebulae [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We present the spectra of 32 previously unpublished confirmed and candidate Wolf-Rayet ([WR]) and weak emission-line (WELS) central stars of planetary nebulae (CSPNe).

Predictive Ability of Plasma p‐tau217 for β‐Amyloid Status: A Prospective Multicenter Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Plasma tau phosphorylated at threonine 217 (p‐tau217) measured with fully automated platforms has shown high accuracy for Alzheimer's disease (AD) diagnosis, but real‐world multicenter data remain limited. We aimed to validate the diagnostic performance of p‐tau217 for identifying AD pathology in a real‐world multicenter cohort ...

Thin accretion discs around neutron and quark stars [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The possibility of observationally discriminating between various types of neutron stars, described by different equations of state of the nuclear matter, as well as differentiating neutron stars from other types of exotic objects, for example, quark ...

Persistent Bilateral [18F]THK5351 and Migrating Unilateral [18F]FDG Uptake in Anti‐LGI1 Encephalitis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Anti–leucine‐rich glioma‐inactivated 1 encephalitis (LGI1‐E) can cause persistent cognitive deficits, but the mechanisms remain unclear. A 40‐year‐old woman with LGI1‐E presented with subacute cognitive deficits and showed mild left medial temporal lobe (MTL) swelling and fluid‐attenuated inversion recovery (FLAIR) hyperintensity on initial ...

ExoplaNeT accRetion mOnitoring sPectroscopic surveY (ENTROPY)

open access: yesAstronomy & Astrophysics
Context. Observations of helium emission lines from classical T Tauri stars at high resolution (Rλ > 10 000) offer great potential, showing distinct profile characteristics that help probe regions within the accretion geometry untapped by hydrogen lines.

Weak emission line central stars of planetary nebulae

open access: yes, 2018
To understand the evolution and morphology of planetary nebulae, a detailed knowledge of their central stars is required. Central stars that exhibit emission lines in their spectra, indicating stellar mass-loss allow to study the evolution of planetary ...

Properties of Regions Forming the FeII Emission Lines in Be Stars

open access: yes, 2005
We study FeII and Balmer hydrogen emission lines observed simultaneously of 18 southern Be stars. We use the self-absorption-curve method (SAC) to determine the optical depth regime of FeII emission lines and to derive first insights on the physical properties of their forming regions.
