Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Empirical Emission Functions for LPM Suppression of Photon Emission from Quark-Gluon Plasma
The LPM suppression of photon emission rates from the quark gluon plasma have been studied at different physical conditions of the plasma given by temperature and chemical potentials. The integral equation for the transverse vector function (f(p_t ...

Comparison and Assessment of Two Emission inventories for the Madrid Region [PDF]
Emission inventories are databases that aim to describe the polluting activities that occur across a certain geographic domain. According to the spatial scale, the availability of information will vary as well as the applied assumptions, which will ...

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Motor vehicles in urban areas are the main source of ultrafine particles (diameters < 0.1 µm). Ultrafine particles are generally measured in terms of particle number because they have little mass and are prolific in terms of their numbers. These sized

Nitrous oxide (N2O) is a long-lived greenhouse gas that contributes to global warming. Emissions of N2O mainly stem from agricultural soils. This review highlights the principal factors from peer-reviewed literature affecting N2O emissions from ...

Biomass burning emission factors (BB EFs) exhibit significant variations across the savanna biome due to environmental conditions and fuel composition. Although we understand some factors contributing to this variability, quantifying their impact for integration into BB emission models has been limited by the absence of in situ EF measurements ...

On generation of Crab giant pulses
We propose that Crab giant pulses are generated on closed magnetic field lines near the light cylinder via anomalous cyclotron resonance on the ordinary mode.

Light-curve modelling constraints on the obliquities and aspect angles of the young Fermi pulsars [PDF]
In more than four years of observation the Large Area Telescope on board the Fermi satellite has identified pulsed $\gamma$-ray emission from more than 80 young pulsars, providing light curves with high statistics.
