A NOEMA pilot survey of [C II] line emission in luminous galaxies at z  ≈  6

open access: yesAstronomy & Astrophysics
We present Northern Extended Millimeter Array (NOEMA) observations of four luminous galaxies at z ∼ 6, when the Universe was less than ∼1 Gyr old. These galaxies are detected in the [C II] 158 μm fine-structure line, and three also exhibit underlying ...

Emission-line galaxies in the Slice of the Universe

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal, 1988
The relative spatial distributions of emission-line galaxies (ELGs) and normal galaxies that lie in the sky area covered by the 'Slice' survey (de Lapparent et al., 1986) are considered. ELGs follow the same spatial distribution as found for the Slice galaxies, with the exception that they avoid the Coma cluster.

Martian Proton Albedo as Signature of Near‐Surface Water

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Planets, Volume 131, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract Understanding the Martian soil water budget is crucial not only for in situ resource utilization in future human missions to Mars, but also for reconstructing the geological and climatic history of the planet, as well as to assess the potential of ancient or even present microbial life.

UNCOVERing the High-redshift AGN Population among Extreme UV Line Emitters

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
JWST has revealed diverse new populations of high-redshift ( z  ∼ 4–11) active galactic nuclei (AGNs) and extreme star-forming galaxies that challenge current photoionization models.

Tree Harvest Decisions Modulate the Climate Impact of Rewetting in a Low‐Productive Peatland Forest in Boreal Sweden

open access: yesGlobal Change Biology, Volume 32, Issue 6, June 2026.
Rewetting drained boreal peatland forests is increasingly promoted as a climate mitigation strategy, yet its effects on carbon (C) and greenhouse gas (GHG) balances remain uncertain. This study quantified CO2 and CH4 fluxes over 2 years before and after rewetting in a low‐productive peatland forest, with and without tree harvest.

Emission line profiles and X-ray observations of broad and narrow line Seyfert 1 galaxies

open access: yes, 2011
Narrow Line Seyfert 1 galaxies represent a distinct category in the larger family of Type 1 Active Galactic Nuclei. The occurrence of emission line profiles not broader than 2000 km/s, combined with luminosity estimates comparable to those of their broad

H i Properties of Field Galaxies at z ≈ 0.2–0.6: Insights into Declining Cosmic Star Formation

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters
We report statistically significant detection of H i 21 cm emission from intermediate-redshift ( z  ≈ 0.2–0.6) galaxies. By leveraging multisightline galaxy survey data from the Cosmic Ultraviolet Baryon Survey and deep radio observations from the ...

Emission-line galaxies in the Bootes void

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 1987
Les deplacements vers le rouge de 3 nouvelles galaxies montrent qu'elles sont a l'interieur du vide. Le nombre des galaxies dans le vide de Bootes est donc actuellement de huit.

A Catalog of Broad Hα and Hβ Active Galactic Nuclei in MaNGA

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Broad H α and H β emission lines (FWHM > 1000 km s ^−1 ) are incredibly efficient tracers of the high-velocity clouds encircling active galactic nuclei (AGNs).

Chandra Detects Low-luminosity Active Galactic Nucleus with MBH = 104–106 M⊙ in Nearby (z < 0.5) Dwarf and Star-forming Galaxies

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We searched the Chandra and XMM archives for 900 Green Pea galaxies to identify signs of active galactic nuclei (AGN). Green peas are low-mass, emission-line galaxies that resemble high-redshift dwarf galaxies. From 29 observations, we detected X-rays in
