Emission-line galaxies in the cluster A 634

Astrophysics, 1984
The results are given of an investigation of the cluster of galaxies A 634. The members of the cluster include 35 emission-line galaxies. The mean recession velocity of the cluster is 8010 km/sec and the velocity dispersion 309 km/sec. A lower limit for the relative number of emission-line galaxies brighter than 15 /sup m./ 7 in A 634 is estimated at 0.

Broad emission lines in active galaxies

Vistas in Astronomy, 1988

Redshift surveys of emission-line galaxies

Publications of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific, 1988
The usefulness of employing samples of emission-line galaxies as alternative means of conducting redshift surveys is discussed. Results in the directions of the Bootes and Coma voids show certain differences. In Bootes approximately ten objects have been identified within the void, but the Coma void appears empty at the same luminosities. The Coma void

Precision Cosmology with Emission-Line Galaxies

2023
In the recent decade, low redshift weak lensing surveys have shown a ~2-3σ tension compared to cosmic microwave background (CMB) anisotropy surveys when it comes to measuring the amplitude of matter clustering, σ8. If the same tension is found at a higher precision, then it could potentially point to the existence beyond ΛCDM physics.
