On the Structure and Kinematics of Nebulae around LBVs and LBV Candidates in the LMC [PDF]

open access: yesAstron.Astrophys.408:205-230,2003, 2003
We present a detailed analysis of the morphology and kinematics of nebulae around LBVs and LBV candidates in the Large Magellanic Cloud. HST images and high-resolution Echelle Spectra were used to determine the size, shape, brightness, and expansion velocities of the LBV nebulae around R127, R143, and S61.

The sustainable challenge: Where does social psychology stand in achieving the sustainable development goals?

open access: yesBritish Journal of Social Psychology, Volume 64, Issue 2, April 2025.
Abstract The United Nations Agenda 2030, inclusive of its 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs), serves as the global blueprint for sustainability for both present and future generations. Scientific research is entrusted with the responsibility of contributing by informing the current situation and future challenges in achieving the SDGs.

GeV–TeV Cosmic-Ray Leptons in the Solar System from the Bow Shock Wind Nebula of the Nearest Millisecond Pulsar J0437–4715 [PDF]

open access: yesAstrophysical Journal, 2019
We consider the acceleration of leptons up to GeV–TeV energies in the bow shock wind nebula of PSR J0437–4715 and their subsequent diffusion through the interstellar magnetic fields.

Discovery of an Extended γ-Ray Emission around the Supernova Remnant Candidate Associated with PSR J0837–2454

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2023
Motivated by the recent discovery of a low-surface-brightness diffuse emission, a supernova remnant (SNR) candidate, surrounding the young pulsar PSR J0837–2454, we carry out a likelihood analysis of the γ -ray data obtained by the Fermi Gamma-ray Space ...

High Energy emission from Crab Nebula [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Flaring episodes from Crab Nebula have been observed. A new mechanism of emission is explored. Particles in Crab pulsar are accelerated to multiple Tev energies, by some mechanisms, described in the paper and they are the reason of observed emission. We argue, that after accelerating to high energies, they may maintain the force-free regime - moving ...

X-ray Emission from the Guitar Nebula [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
We have detected weak soft X-ray emission from the Pulsar Wind Nebula trailing the high velocity star PSR 2224+65 (the `Guitar Nebula'). This X-ray flux gives evidence of \gamma~10^7 eV particles in the pulsar wind and constrains the properties of the post-shock flow.

The Decline and Fall of the Youngest Planetary Nebula [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
The Stingray Nebula, aka Hen3-1357, appeared for the first time in 1990 when bright nebular lines and radio emission that had not been observed before were unexpectedly discovered (Parthasarathy et al. 1993). In the ensuing years the nebula faded precipitously.

SPECTROPHOTOMETRY OF THE HUYGENS REGION OF THE ORION NEBULA, THE EXTENDED ORION NEBULA, AND M 43: SCATTERED LIGHT SYSTEMATICALLY DISTORTS CONDITIONS DERIVED FROM EMISSION LINES [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We report on medium resolution spectrophotometry of the Orion Nebula region, including for the first time the Extended Orion Nebula (EON) and the nearby M 43.

A Giant Intragroup Nebula Hosting a Damped Absorber at z = 0.313 [PDF]

open access: yesAstrophysical Journal, 2019
This Letter reports the discovery of spatially extended line-emitting nebula, reaching to ≈100 physical kpc (pkpc) from a damped absorber (DLA) at zDLA = 0.313 along the sightline toward quasi-stellar object (QSO) PKS 1127−145 (zQSO = 1.188).
