The L-Emission Spectrum of Argon [PDF]

open access: yesNature, 1935
OF the X-spectra of rare gases, the K-series of xenon and that of krypton have been measured1, and from their absorption spectra the K-edge of argon2, krypton3 and the L-edge of xenon3 are known. For the L-absorption edge of Xe, as well as for the K-edge of argon4, a fine structure also has been found.

DEVELOPMENT OF THE MODEL OF GALACTIC INTERSTELLAR EMISSION FOR STANDARD POINT-SOURCE ANALYSIS OF FERMI LARGE AREA TELESCOPE DATA [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Most of the celestial γ rays detected by the Large Area Telescope (LAT) on board the Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope originate from the interstellar medium when energetic cosmic rays interact with interstellar nucleons and photons.

Advances in Hybrid Icing and Frosting Protection Strategies for Optics, Lens, and Photonics in Cold Environments Using Thin‐Film Acoustic Waves

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article provides a comprehensive overview of fundamentals and recent advances of transparent thin‐film surface acoustic wave technologies on glass substrates for monitoring and prevention/elimination of fog, ice, and frost. Fogging, icing, or frosting on optical lenses, optics/photonics, windshields, vehicle/airplane windows, and solar panel ...

Pump-Controlled Plasmonic Random Lasers from Dye-Doped Nematic Liquid Crystals with TiN Nanoparticles in Non-Oriented Cells

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
Manipulation of the performance of the random lasers from dye-doped nematic liquid crystals with TiN nanoparticles in non-oriented cells is studied. The experimental results show that the introduction of TiN nanoparticles into dye-doped nematic liquid ...

Emission Spectrum Analysis of Two Typical Partial Discharge Forms Under High Frequency Square Wave Voltages

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Although the increase in frequency improves the transmission efficiency of high-frequency transformer, a higher probability of insulation failure is caused by high-frequency partial discharges.

Statistics of Galactic Synchrotron and Dust Foregrounds: Spectra, PDFs and Higher-Order Moments [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2008
We present statistical analysis of diffuse Galactic synchrotron emission and polarized thermal emission from dust. Both Galactic synchrotron emission and polarized thermal emission from dust reflect statistics of magnetic field fluctuations and, therefore, Galactic turbulence.

Spray Deposition for Solvent Annealing of Hybrid Poly(3,4‐Ethylenedioxythiophene) Polystyrene Sulfonate Cellulose Silver Nanowire Composite Electrodes Using a Roll‐to‐Roll Coater

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The fabrication and post‐treatment via solvent annealing of poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene) polystyrene sulfonate‐based electrodes using spray deposition in a roll‐to‐roll setup are presented. The decrease in sheet resistance and its correlation with nanostructure and molecular structure in the electrodes as a function of the processing parameters is ...

Strong coupling in a two-dimensional semiconductor/noble metal multilayer platform

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2020
We investigate the Purcell factor and emission spectrum of a two-level quantum emitter placed near a planar multilayer nanostructure composed of an ultrathin dielectric or noble metal film between a pair of two-dimensional (2D) layers of transition-metal

Modulation of harmonic emission spectra from intense laser-plasma interaction [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2004
We report results from a series of PIC simulations carried out to investigate the interaction of intense laser light with overdense plasma and in particular, aspects of the harmonic emission spectrum generated in these interactions. Recent observations of emission in this range by Watts et al.
