Infrared emission spectrum and potentials of $0_u^+$ and $0_g^+$ states of Xe$_2$ excimers produced by electron impact [PDF]
We present an investigation of the Xe$_{2}$ excimer emission spectrum observed in the near infrared range about 7800 cm$^{-1}$ in pure Xe gas and in an Ar (90%) --Xe (10%) mixture and obtained by exciting the gas with energetic electrons.

Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

The "Tapered Gridded Estimator" (TGE) is a novel way to directly estimate the angular power spectrum from radio-interferometric visibility data that reduces the computation by efficiently gridding the data, consistently removes the noise bias, and ...

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

A softer look at MCG--6-30-15 with XMM-Newton
We present analysis and results from the Reflection Grating Spectrometer during the 320 ks XMM observation of the Seyfert 1 galaxy MCG-6-30-15. The spectrum is marked by a sharp drop in flux at 0.7 keV which has been interpreted by Branduardi-Raymont et ...

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Acoustic emission technique can monitor the fatigue damage state of composite materials in real time. The identification accuracy of damage state depends on the processing and extraction of acoustic emission signals.

High resolution X-ray spectrum of the accreting binary X-ray pulsar GX 1+4
We present here high resolution X-ray spectrum of the accreting binary X-ray pulsar GX 1+4 obtained with the High Energy Transmission Grating (HETG) instrument of the Chandra X-ray Observatory. This was supplemented by a simultaneous observation with the

Power Spectrum Analysis of the OMC1 Image at 1.1 mm Wavelength [PDF]
We present a 1.1mm emission map of the OMC1 region observed with AzTEC, a new large-format array composed of 144 silicon-nitride micromesh bolometers, that was in use at the James Clerk Maxwell Telescope (JCMT).
