A high brightness field emission display
IEEE Conference Record - Abstracts. 1996 IEEE International Conference on Plasma Science, 2002Summary form only given. The technical objective of the Raytheon development program is to develop a high performance, full color, FED Panel that meets the performance and environmental operating condition requirements specified for military and other high performance display applications.

Plasma processing for field emission displays
IEEE Conference Record - Abstracts. 1996 IEEE International Conference on Plasma Science, 2002Summary form only given, as follows. SIDT has developed a revolutionary flat cathode diamond field emitter display (DFED) technology, where the micro-tip cathode is replaced with a simple, thin film field emitter with a very low effective work function.

Electron-Emission and Flat-Panel Displays
2000When ferroelectrics are subjected to applied electric fields sufficiently large to switch their domains, electrons are emitted from their surfaces [495, 496]. This process is related to the Barkhausen effect, in which the annihilation of two colliding charged 180° domains liberates free charge [497].

Carbon Nanotubes For Field Emission Displays
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2003Display structures suitable for direct growth of CNT films by thermal CVD are described. The CNT film specifications for TV application are the following: a threshold field for emission higher than 3 V/μm, a current density of 140mA/cm2 and an emission site density around 107 cm−2.

Matrix Addressing of Non-Emissive Displays
1976Matrix addressing affords reductions in the number of interconnections and drivers, and sometimes simplification of fabrication, which are needed for all but the simplest displays. Static addressing can be advantageously employed for displays such as bargraphs and reticles whose pattern set is restricted a priori, but dynamic (multiplexed) matrix ...
