Uniformity in a Microirrigation with Partially Clogged Emitters

2003, Las Vegas, NV July 27-30, 2003, 2003
A field experiment was conducted to evaluate the effect of different patterns of clogged emitters on the hydraulics in micro-irrigation laterals installed on flat and sloped terrain. Laterals with 8 different patterns of partially clogged emitters, laid on flat, 3%, and 7% down and up-sloped terrains, were tested.

Effect of pulsating pressure on labyrinth emitter clogging

Irrigation Science, 2017
Emitter clogging has a direct impact on the performance and service life of a drip irrigation system. A study of labyrinth emitter clogging was conducted to determine the effects of pulsating versus constant pressure on average emitter flow rate ( $$\overline{q}$$

Trickle irrigation: Emitter clogging and other flow problems

Agricultural Water Management, 1981
Abstract Trickle irrigation experiments with Colorado River water on citrus trees in southwestern Arizona were conducted to develop water treatment methods for preventing emitter clogging and maintaining long-term operation of the system under actual field conditions.

Biological treatment of clogged emitters in a drip irrigation system

Journal of Environmental Management, 2005
This study was conducted to investigate microbial organisms that can be used for preventing clogging in drip irrigation systems caused by biological factors. A total of 25 fungi isolate and 121 bacterial strains were isolated from water samples collected from drip irrigation systems in tomato greenhouses in the eastern Anatolia region of Turkey in the ...

Composite clogging characteristics of emitters in drip irrigation systems

Irrigation Science, 2018
This study investigated the characteristics of emitter clogging substance in 16 kinds of drip irrigation emitters using 3 kinds of water sources that could typically induce composite clogging in the Yellow River irrigation area. The research results indicate that there was remarkable randomness in the behavior of composite clogging substances in a ...

ANALYSIS OF CLOGGING IN DRIP EMITTERS DURING WASTEWATER IRRIGATION

Applied Engineering in Agriculture, 2006
The use of wastewater for crop irrigation is a practical alternative to the discharge of wastewater treatment plant effluents to surface waters. However, clogging of drip emitters is often encountered when wastewater is distributed using drip irrigation systems.

Characterization of labyrinth emitter-clogging substances in biogas slurry drip irrigation systems

Science of The Total Environment, 2022
Drip irrigation is important for efficiently returning biogas slurry to fields. Elucidating the characteristics and components of clogging substances produced by labyrinth emitters in biogas slurry drip irrigation systems will help to develop various clogging substance-remediation strategies.

Preventing Biochemical Clogging of Filters and Emitters in Microirrigation Systems

2005 Tampa, FL July 17-20, 2005, 2005
Careful management and monitoring of irrigation systems are very important for sustainable use of water resources and efficient use of water by crops. Also, new developments in filtering technologies are necessary to reuse eutrophic water in irrigated fields.

Control of emitter clogging in drip irrigation with reclaimed wastewater

Irrigation Science, 1992
Experiments were carried out to evaluate the performance of various types of drip irrigation emitters, widely used in Israel, using waste water from a storage reservoir. Fine particulate matter agglomerated by microbial by-products and in-line developed biomass were the principal clogging agents.

Anti-clogging evaluation for drip irrigation emitters using reclaimed water

Irrigation Science, 2016
Emitter clogging has a direct impact on the required operating time and benefit of a drip irrigation system, especially when using reclaimed water. Thus, accurately evaluating its anti-clogging ability is important to select an appropriate emitter under specific conditions.
