ESTIMATION OF THE KINETIC HEAD COEFFICIENT (k) BASED ON THE GEOMETRIC CHARACTERISTICS OF EMITTER PIPES [PDF]
: The objective of this study was to determine the variability of the head loss as a function of the emitter geometry as well as to develop a relation between local head loss caused by the emitter insertion and geometric characteristics of the emitter ...

Effect of End Face Inclination Angles of Emitters on Local Head Loss in Drip Irrigation Pipes [PDF]
[Objective] Taking inline cylindrical emitters as the research object, this study modifies the inclination angle of the emitter’s sidewall end face to investigate the effects of structural optimization on local head loss in drip irrigation pipes ...

A Bayesian approach for identifying drip emitter insertion head loss coefficients
The use of a Bayesian approach to identify the emitter insertion head loss coefficients required for the design of drip laterals is demonstrated. Total discharge and pressure measurements taken along commercially available 100 m rolls of pressure compensating drip laterals laid on a 1% slope wooden platform were used.

Hydraulic Performance and Energy Loss Effect of Pit Structure Optimized Drip Irrigation Emitter [PDF]
The pit structure optimized drip irrigation emitter (PODE) is a novel type of irrigation emitter that may provide shunts, quick diversion, and mixed flow to maximize energy loss.

Hydraulic Performance and Energy Dissipation Mechanism Analysis of the Tesla-Shaped Emitter
In this paper, a tesla-shaped emitter is proposed based on the structure of the “tesla valve” as the source of inspiration, so that the water flow in the channel would produce a variety of energy dissipation phenomena, such as diversion, hedging, and ...

COP26 AND HEALTH: SOME PROGRESS, BUT TOO SLOW AND NOT ENOUGH
The editorial on climate change and biodiversity published in over 220 health journals in September had two main demands: keep global temperature increases below 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels to avoid catastrophic damage to health; and accept that ...
