Dihydroorotate dehydrogenase (DHODH) regulates trophoblast syncytialization through organelle stress–induced cellular senescence

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The inhibition of mitochondrial dihydroorotate dehydrogenase (DHODH) impairs syncytialization and induces cellular senescence via mitochondrial and endoplasmic reticulum stress in human trophoblast stem cells, elevating sFlt1/PlGF levels, a hallmark of placental dysfunction in hypertensive disorders of pregnancy.

Engineering and Tuning of Quantum Emitters in Few-Layer Hexagonal Boron Nitride.

open access: yesACS Nano, 2019
Quantum technologies require robust and photostable single photon emitters (SPEs). Hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) has recently emerged as a promising candidate to host bright and optically stable SPEs operating at room temperature.

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Research on modern radar emitter modelling technique under complex electromagnetic environment

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
Since many modern multi-functional radars emitting dense complex signals are applied in the complex electromagnetic environment, it is challenge to classify and identify the radar emitters in the electronic reconnaissance field.

Cutaneous Melanoma Drives Metabolic Changes in the Aged Bone Marrow Immune Microenvironment

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer, increasingly affects older adults. Our study reveals that melanoma induces changes in iron and lipid levels in the bone marrow, impacting immune cell populations and increasing susceptibility to ferroptosis.

Suppression of local decay rate through energy quantum confinement effect in non-Markovian waveguide QED

open access: yesPhotoniX
Waveguide quantum electrodynamics (QED) system manifests an ideal platform for studying many-body physics. When multiple emitters are coupled to a common waveguide, subradiant states may arise because of the waveguide-mediated interaction, leading to a ...

A Comprehensive Overview of the Clinical, Electrophysiological, and Neuroimaging Features of BPAN: Insights From a New Case Series

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Neurodegeneration with brain iron accumulation (NBIA) comprises a genetically and clinically heterogeneous group of rare neurological disorders characterized particularly by iron accumulation in the basal ganglia. To date, 15 genes have been associated with NBIA.

Geometric Characteristics of Dripper Labyrinths and Accumulation of Solid Particles: Simulation and Experimentation

open access: yesAgriEngineering
Emitter clogging in drip irrigation systems is a recurring issue, affecting water application uniformity and system lifespan. This study investigated the anti-clogging performance of emitters and the accumulation patterns of solid particles in dripper ...

Higher Amyloid and Tau Burden Is Associated With Faster Decline on a Digital Cognitive Test

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective A 2‐min digital clock‐drawing test (DCTclock) captures more granular features of the clock‐drawing process than the pencil‐and‐paper clock‐drawing test, revealing more subtle deficits at the preclinical stage of Alzheimer's disease (AD). A previous cross‐sectional study demonstrated that worse DCTclock performance was associated with
