The ultrastructure of the spherules of Emmonsia crescens studied by the technique of freeze-etching
Mycopathologia et Mycologia Applicata, 1974Young spherules (adiaspores) of the fungusEmmonsia crescens from the cultures growing on Sabouraud's dextrose agar have been prepared for electron microscopy by the technique of freeze-etching. In the cytoplasmic membrane grooved invaginations corresponding with the ridges on the inner face of the cell membrane have been found.

A heterogeneous distribution ofEmmonsia parvavar.crescensin an agro-ecosystem
Medical Mycology, 1995The lung tissue of 1143 rodents of five species, caught at a number of sites and habitats in an agro-ecosystem (southern Moravia, Czech Republic) in 1988-1993, was examined for the presence of adiaspores of Emmonsia parva var. crescens (Emmons et Jellison) van Oorschot.

Pulmonary Adiaspiromycosis in Man Caused byEmmonsia crescens: Report of a Unique Case
American Journal of Clinical Pathology, 1971Pulmonary adiaspiromycosis due to infection with the fungus Emmonsia crescens was diagnosed in an 11-year-old boy. The disease manifested itself as a disseminated bilateral granulomatous process in the form of innumerable tuberculoid nodules containing adiaspores.

Mutants ofEmmonsia crescens — Their pathogenicity and size of adiasporesin vivo
Folia Microbiologica, 1976The pathogenicity of seven morphological mutants of Emmonsia crescens was tested by means of intraperitoneal inoculation in mice. All mutants caused adiaspiromycosis. Adiaspores were isolated from granulomas after 2 months and their diameters were determined.

The spring peak of adiaspiromycosis due toEmmonsia crescensEmmons et Jellison 1960
Medical Mycology, 1969A 3-year study has been made of the seasonal incidence of Emmonsia crescens adiaspores in the lungs of small wild living mammals in two localities in East and South Bohemia. The definite spring peak of adiaspiromycosis has been noted and the finding supports a hypothesis of the seasonal phase alternation and circulation of E. crescens in nature.

Isolation of Emmonsia crescens Emmons et Jellison 1960 from small mammals in Bulgaria
Mycopathologia, 1975Authors examined a total of 3849 specimens of mammals included in 36 species from different region of Bulgaria. Adiaspiromycosis was detected microscopically in 18 mammals species. Strains of Emmonsia crescens Emmons et Jellison 1960 was isolated from 6 species--Apodemus flavicollis, Apodemus sylvaticus, Clethrionomys glareolus, Microtus arvalis ...

Enzymatic activity of spherules of Emmonsia crescens Emmons et Jellison.
Česká Mykologie, 1972In the spherules (adiaspores) of 4 strains of the fungus Emmonsia crescens growing on agar medium the activities of the following enzymes were studied: 1. Hydrolytic enzymes: alkaline phosphatase, acid phosphatase, non-specific esterase and aminopeptidase. 2.
