Individuals with persisting post‐concussion symptoms with physiological subtype demonstrate altered cardiovascular and autonomic responses to face cooling

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract Individuals with persisting post‐concussion symptoms with physiological subtype (PPCS‐P) demonstrate exercise intolerance due to exacerbation of concussion‐like symptoms during incremental exercise. We tested the hypothesis that individuals with PPCS‐P (n = 12) would have a blunted cardiac autonomic response to face cooling compared to healthy

Linking dynamic cerebral autoregulation and inhibitory executive function: Role of modifiable behaviours

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract Dynamic cerebral autoregulation (dCA) stabilises cerebral blood flow (CBF) against rapid fluctuations in perfusion pressure and may serve as a key physiological mediator of cognitive function. Inhibitory executive function, a core domain essential for goal‐directed behaviour, is influenced by modifiable lifestyle factors such as physical ...

Developmental Profile and Variability in Preschool‐Age Children With Down Syndrome

open access: yesJournal of Intellectual Disability Research, Volume 70, Issue 8, Page 881-886, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Background The developmental and cognitive profile of Down syndrome (DS) has been studied across various age groups, but we have still a limited understanding of the preschool‐age range, including the domains that show the greatest variability at this age. Our study aims to (1) define the developmental profile in preschool‐age children with DS

Understanding the Association Between Autistic Traits, Anorexia Nervosa Symptomatology and Weight Recovery in Female Adolescents: A Longitudinal Analysis

open access: yesEuropean Eating Disorders Review, Volume 34, Issue 4, Page 1065-1074, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Anorexia nervosa (AN) and autism are distinct conditions, yet individuals with AN often exhibit elevated autistic traits. These traits are linked to complex clinical presentations, but their impact on AN remains unclear. This longitudinal study investigates associations between autistic traits, AN symptoms, and weight recovery in ...
